John Cena looking to be more involved with Fortnite after huge collab success
John Cena arrived in the Fortnite Item Shop complete with his “You Can’t See Me” Emote and The Time Is Now entrance theme. Players absolutely loved the collab, and Cena has confirmed he wants to be in Fortnite again.
Following the likes of Dwayne Johnson and Ariana Grande, 16-time WWE champ John Cena arrived in Fortnite on July 28. Although a Peacemaker skin (his DC universe character) was rumored, John Cena arrived as himself equipped with WWE-inspired cosmetics.
There were invisibility memes galore, and players absolutely loved the collab. Seeing the positive reception, Cena confirmed he’s looking to be more involved with Fortnite going forward.
After the huge success of John Cena’s Fortnite skin, the pro-wrestler-turned-actor took to Twitter to thank the player base and tease that there’s more to come.
“Overwhelmed with the response from the [Fortnite] community and so grateful to now have “skin” in the game,” tweeted Cena on July 31. “Already looking for more ways to be involved! Thank you!”
How Cena could be more involved with Fortnite remains to be seen, but with the champ’s acting prowess, he could play an in-universe character similar to how Dwayne Johnson plays The Foundation.
The most likely candidate is Geno, the leader of the Imagined Order and big bad of the Fortnite universe, but Epic might already have plans for this character.
Plus, the Peacemaker crossover could still be on the table. A ton of DCEU characters have already made their way to the game including Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Idris Elba’s Bloodsport, who debuted alongside John Cena’s Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad.
Don’t expect any more John Cena skins soon, but Fortnite is showing no signs of slowing down with the Chapter 3 Season 4 update set for mid-September and a teased Dragon Ball Z crossover.
