fortnite season 6 start date

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is now nearing its end, but how long does it have left, and when will Season 6 officially launch?

Fortnite divides its content up into Seasons, with Chapters dividing them up further. Once Fortnite reached the end of Season 10 in October 2019, the game moved onto Chapter 2. We’re now nearing the end of Chapter 2, Season 5, so players have set their sights on what Season 6 will have in store.

Fortnite Season 4 ended on December 2 following a massive battle between Fortnite players, Marvel heroes, and Galactus. The game was down for a few hours and then Season 5, titled ‘Zero Point,’ kicked off in style.

A plethora of pop-culture characters have come to the game in Season 5, such as Star Wars’ The Mandalorian, God of War’s Kratos, Xenomorphs, and the Predator. But it’s time to start looking ahead and wonder what we can expect.

When does Fortnite Season 6 begin?

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 will officially end on March 16, 2021 with Season 6 likely to follow directly after it.

Official Fortnite channels have confirmed that the Battle Pass will end on March 16, so it’s safe to assume that Season 6 will begin during the week beginning March 15.

Popular and reliable leaker HYPEX has also revealed that Season 6 won’t be delayed, as the update has been added to the staging servers on March 5.

What will be in Fortnite Season 6?

Fortnite data miners already have an idea of what Season 5’s Zero Crisis Finale Event will look like. In the 15.50 update files, Mang0e discovered NPCs will be “teleported to wacky places by the Zero Point,” and Fort Tory discovered that audio will be distorted as we reach the event.

Continuing the lore of Fortnite, it seems that Agent Jones has finally reached his breaking point and could be about go rogue in Fortnite. The most recent teaser shows clear signs of dissension between himself and the Imagined Order.

It’s likely Season 6 will feature significant map changes. We last saw Colossal Coliseum, Stealthy Stronghold, and the return of fan-favorite location Tilted Towers.

The theme for next season’s content is anyone’s guess, but data miners have become adept at deciphering Epic Games’ plans so we’re likely to have a strong idea before it officially launches.

There is also a plethora of other leaked content including:

Another recent finding indicates that other aspects of Fortnite could be set to merge with the battle royale game. One of the recent teasers has hinted that Save The World content is on its way in the form of a new shotgun and axe.

Neymar coming to Fortnite Season 6?

One of the biggest unofficial surprises for Season 6 of Fortnite appears to be world-famous soccer superstar Neymar.

The Brazilian sports icon is known for his love of Fortnite and responded to an official Tweet from the main Fortnite Twitter handle.

With a bit more digging, evidence has actually been found to support the idea that Neymar is set to feature in Season 6 in some way. In the teaser trailer from Epic Games, some images are included that match up to aspects of Neymar’s career.

Hypex managed to find images relating to Neymar that correspond to suspiciously similar stills inside the video. As we have said, there’s no word on what the mega tie-in could have in-store for players, but maybe it will be the start of an even bigger crossover for the game using real-life athletes.
