Fortnite Infantry Rifle unvaulted

In a hotfix on May 3, Epic Games have unvaulted the classic Tac Shotgun and Infantry Rifle, as well as made further quality of life improvements to looting and crafting.

Fortnite Season 6 has changed up the battle royale game’s loot pool considerably. Going with this season’s Primal theme, players can upgrade Makeshift weapons with Animal Bones or Mechanical Parts and turn them into Primal or Mechanical weapons.

With this new loot system, classic weapons, which many players still favor, are more difficult to get a hold of. However, in an update on May 3, Epic Games have made significant changes to Fortnite’s weapon pool, crafting system, and looting.

Tac Shotgun Fortnite Season 6

Epic Games announced on May 3 that two classic weapons have returned, the Tactical Shotgun and the Infantry Rifle. We haven’t seen the Tactical Shotgun since Season 5 when it was vaulted, and the Infantry Rifle was left behind when Fortnite moved to Chapter 2, Season 1.

The Infantry Rifle is a semi-auto gun that rewards accurate players at range, and the Tac Shotgun is a fan-favorite semi-auto shotgun well-suited for hip firing up close. If you’ve missed the classic feel of Fortnite’s weapons, these should be a welcome addition.

Not only have these weapons returned, but Epic Games has also made some significant quality of life improvements to the looting and crafting system.

Getting your hands on Mechanical Parts to craft with was a grind, where you had to destroy several cars and trucks to build your ideal loadout. Epic sought to fix this by doubling the chance of finding Crafting Parts on the floor, and the drop rate of Mechanical Parts from cars has been increased by 50%.

Your chances of earning high-tier loot have also improved when looting fish spots, Supply Drops, and Bunker Chests. Epic added that they will now favor classic weapons, so expect more Assault Rifles, Pump Shotguns, Infantry Rifles, and Tactical Shotguns from these.
