In a hotfix on May 3, Epic Games have unvaulted the classic Tac Shotgun and Infantry Rifle, as well as made further quality of life improvements to looting and crafting.
Fortnite Season 6 has changed up the battle royale game’s loot pool considerably. Going with this season’s Primal theme, players can upgrade Makeshift weapons with Animal Bones or Mechanical Parts and turn them into Primal or Mechanical weapons.
With this new loot system, classic weapons, which many players still favor, are more difficult to get a hold of. However, in an update on May 3, Epic Games have made significant changes to Fortnite’s weapon pool, crafting system, and looting.
Epic Games announced on May 3 that two classic weapons have returned, the Tactical Shotgun and the Infantry Rifle. We haven’t seen the Tactical Shotgun since Season 5 when it was vaulted, and the Infantry Rifle was left behind when Fortnite moved to Chapter 2, Season 1.

The Infantry Rifle is a semi-auto gun that rewards accurate players at range, and the Tac Shotgun is a fan-favorite semi-auto shotgun well-suited for hip firing up close. If you’ve missed the classic feel of Fortnite’s weapons, these should be a welcome addition.
Not only have these weapons returned, but Epic Games has also made some significant quality of life improvements to the looting and crafting system.
Getting your hands on Mechanical Parts to craft with was a grind, where you had to destroy several cars and trucks to build your ideal loadout. Epic sought to fix this by doubling the chance of finding Crafting Parts on the floor, and the drop rate of Mechanical Parts from cars has been increased by 50%.
Your chances of earning high-tier loot have also improved when looting fish spots, Supply Drops, and Bunker Chests. Epic added that they will now favor classic weapons, so expect more Assault Rifles, Pump Shotguns, Infantry Rifles, and Tactical Shotguns from these.

How to get special Fortnite x Batman skins
Exclusive Batman universe themed skins are available in Fortnite Season 6, and here’s how you can get them for yourself.
The Batman x Fortnite comic book run has tied in the DC Universe with the battle royale, and players can get their hands on some exclusive DC-themed skins, including Batman himself.
Epic Games have introduced various Fortnite crossovers with notable franchises like Terminator, Street Fighter & Star Wars. Now, DC has entered the arena with its own set of popular characters like Batman.
The two franchises are combining in the Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point comic book crossover. Purchasing each book in the series will grant you special items like character skins. Here’s how you can get them for yourself.
How to unlock Rebirth Harley Quinn Outfit
Rebirth Harley Quinn is the first DC outfit that will become available to you after purchasing the Batman/Fortnite comic. We’ve known about this outfit ever since it was leaked by Fortnite data miners a while back.
As you can gather from the name, this outfit is based on Harley’s appearance during the DC Rebirth run in the comics. She wears a red and black jacket, top, and shorts, alongside red and blue pigtails.
Even if you decide not to pick up the comic book issue for yourself, you’ll still be able to get your hands on this skin when it becomes available in the Fortnite Item Shop in June 2021.
Armored Batman Zero Outfit
The Armored Zero Outfit for Batman can be seen in issue 2 of the Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point comic. If you want this item, you’ll have to purchase all six issues of the crossover book. This implies that we might not see this outfit in the Item Shop.
We got our first look at the suit in the comic’s official trailer, and it boasts a very different design from the traditional Batman look. As the name implies, the new Outfit features more armor with a sleeveless survival aesthetic.
Batman Zero Outfit
Notable Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR leaked another new Batman skin on April 29. This one is named Batman Zero and isn’t armored like the one above.
Unlike the armored skin, you won’t have to purchase all six comic book issues to obtain it. Instead, it will be part of a bundle that comes to the Item Shop on May 5.
The bundle will also include a battle-worn cape, and a special Grappling Axe pickaxe.
Catwoman Zero Outfit
Catwoman’s Grappling Claw pickaxe will become available to players who purchase issue two of Fortnite x Batman: Zero Point. Now, it’s been confirmed that a new skin for the character will also be coming to the game.
Since the pickaxe will be given as a reward on May 18, the new Catwoman Zero skin will likely be released in the Item Shop at the same time. It’s not known if there will be a bundle attached to it, but it’s likely.
Deathstroke Outfit in Fortnite (Rumor)
A few leaks emerged recently, claiming that Epic Games are set on bringing another major DC Comics character to The Island in the form of the supervillain Deathstroke. He might become available to unlock as part of a future issue of the comic.
This information came from the same data miner that previously leaked the Harley Quinn skin, and they confirmed that Deathstroke is “100% becoming a skin in Season 6,” so we should expect to see him arrive soon.
While this seems likely, it’s worth keeping in mind that this is currently just a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. Hopefully, Epic will confirm his arrival in Fortnite through an official announcement soon. If they do, we’ll be sure to update this article.

How to get the Fortnite Catwoman Zero skin
Epic Games have confirmed a new DC-themed outfit for Fortnite, and here’s how you can get the Catwoman Zero skin in Season 6.
A brand new Catwoman skin is coming to Fortnite, called Catwoman Zero. Here’s everything we know about it, including when it will be released and how you can get it.
Epic Games love crossing over Fortnite with other franchises, as they’ve brought in content from Terminator, Street Fighter, Star Wars, and many more. Now, they’ve set their sights on DC characters for Season 6.
Purchasing the Batman x Fortnite comic will grant you some free cosmetics, and collecting six issues will be rewarded with an Armored Batman skin. The reward for issue three is a Catwoman Grappling Claw pickaxe, and she’ll be getting a skin as well.
How to unlock Catwoman Zero skin in Fortnite Season 6
Zero Point artist Reilly Brown explained that Catwoman would slowly change up her costume until the end of issue three of the comic. This means that she’ll have a very different look when she arrives in the game.
Notable Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR has confirmed that the new Catwoman Zero costume will become available as a skin on May 18. This outfit might be part of a bundle that you will be able to purchase from the Item Shop.
This makes sense since the issue of Fortnite x Batman that was released on May 4 provided a free code for the Zero Wing glide, and the Batman Zero skin was added to the Item Shop immediately afterward.
While we don’t know the exact price of the Catwoman Zero outfit, we know that the Batman Zero skin cost 1,500 V-Bucks in the Item Shop, so Epic Games might charge the same amount.
The Catwoman Zero bundle might cost around 2,300 V-Bucks like the one for Batman Zero. As we mentioned above, there’s no exact price listed yet, but we’ll be sure to update this article once we learn more.

How to collect research books from Holly Hedges & Pleasant Park in Fortnite
Here’s where you can find research books in Holly Hedges and Pleasant Park for the Fortnite Season 6 Week 8 challenges.
One of the Week 8 Epic quests in Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 6 requires you to collect research books from Holly Hedges and Pleasant Park. Here’s where you should look in each location.
Weekly challenges give you the opportunity to earn some extra XP as you progress through the Fortnite Season 6 Battle Pass. We’re now in Week 8 of Season 6, and there are plenty of new Epic quests to tackle.
One of these will have you visit the Pleasant Park and Holly Hedges POIs in search of a few research books. You’ll need to find and collect a total of three from either of these areas, and we’ll tell you where to look.
Where to find research books in Holly Hedges
Holly Hedges on the West side of Fortnite Island, and is a relatively small suburban area. It consists of a few streets, and many neighboring houses for you to explore.
Research books have green covers, and can be found lying on the floor next to book cases. You can find five of these within different houses in this area, and we’ve marked them on the map below:
Where to find research books in Pleasant Park
If you arrived at Holly Hedges, and found it overcrowded players, then you can rotate over to Pleasant Park. The good news is that both POIs are close to each other, since they’re both on the West side of the map.
This area is slightly larger, and only contains three research books. Luckily, two of them are in buildings that are right next to each other, with only the third one being a bit further away. You can take a look at their locations below:
As we mentioned before, just keep an eye out for bookcases when you enter the buildings. The green research books should be lying right next to them on the floor. Just collect a total of three, and you’ll have completed the challenge.
One thing to keep in mind is that these areas might have higher player traffic than usual as a result of the weekly challenges. For this reason, you should be ready for a fight when you arrive there.
