Forza Motorsport players can’t decide if the game looks better or worse than Horizon 5

It’s been weeks since Turn 10 Studios’ serious racer, Forza Motorsport, hit the circuit, and it has had a polarizing launch so far. Some say it is the “worst car graphics in 10 years,” and others claim it is the closest video game has been to photo-realism.

Forza Motorsport launched with a fairly positive critical reception, as the game netted a solid Metacritic score of 85. However, performance blemishes and unflattering texture quality have left a part of the community disappointed with the game’s overall state of release.

Many penned their frustration, with some claiming it looks worse than its arcade-racer sibling, Forza Horizon 5. Not just in general graphics, but the AI of the game has also been a major criticism from the community as well.

Poor quality texture and a lack of car details are irking Forza Motorsport’s player base

At first, players were dazzled by the superficial rain-soaked graphics that could easily be confused with real life, but once players peeked into the finer details of the cars, they were left disappointed.

That started a side-by-side comparison of Forza Motorsport details with other sim titles like Gran Turismo.

In a Reddit thread a user compared Forza Motorsport to GT7, baffled by the poor graphics, they thought it was a bug. A user responded saying, “Nope, this is what we’ve been saying. This is what many of the cars look like. The materials rendering is absolutely dire.”

Elsewhere in another Reddit thread, a user posted calling FM the “most ugly beautiful game I have ever played.” Soon after, a comparison was made between Forza Motorsport and its cross-gen sibling, Forza Horizon 5.

Despite being an open-word and cross-gen title, Forza Horizon 5’s car details are more impressive for players than current-gen Forza Motorsport.

Most of it comes down to the unreasonable standards Turn 10 set with previous Forza titles. Even the trailers were the sound of pure next-gen but many of the technical details were axed come the final release, which wasn’t as sharp as fans hoped.

All that has left the player base upset over some of the visual qualities, with many now hoping that Turn 10 will patch it up with upgraded texture.
