Frustrating Apex Legends bug lets you use weapons in Pathfinder’s boxing ring

A new bug has been discovered in the Pathfinder Town Takeover which is causing weapons to spawn in the ring.

A new bug is in Pathfinder's boxing arena

The brand new Pathfinder Town Takeover boxing arena is being plagued by a game-breaking bug which is giving weapons to certain players, while forcing others to battle it out with only their fists.

The Fight Night update is behind us now, and Apex Legends received a plethora of new cosmetics, bug fixes, and quality-of-life updates through the Collection Event. A Town Takeover has also been added in the form of a new boxing arena.

This section lets you engage other players without the use of weapons. Instead, you’ll have to stick to fighting with your fists in a classic melee brawl. This is an interesting addition, but a new bug has been discovered that lets players use weapons inside the Pathfinder boxing ring.

Pathfinder's boxing arena

Twitter user ‘ikevander,’ posted a clip of this bug. They were playing inside of the arena, and were able to bypass the feature that prevents you from using weapons. The other players were still limited to brawling with their firsts when the user was not.

This goes against how the new Town Takeover is supposed to function, and the player doesn’t even know how this happened. They claimed that the weapon just spawned in their Legend’s hand while they were “trying to do a fake punch.”

It’s unclear how exactly players can take advantage of this exploit. It might have a specific technique that you need to perform, or it could happen completely at random. This makes it hard to tell how many players have been affected by the bug so far.

It’s possible that some Apex fans may find out how to make this glitch happen on command, and that could lead to a whole new set of problems. If this issue continues to plague the Pathfinder boxing ring, then Respawn might have to disable it altogether until they fix it.

Update 1/8/21: On January 7, Respawn Entertainment deployed a hotfix preventing players from bringing weapons to the ring, as well as fixing several other issues with The Pathfinder Town Takeover.

Who is the most popular Apex Legends character? Season 10 pick rates

Apex Legends Season 10 is well into its stride, but who has dominated the pick rates for Season 10 of Respawn’s battle royale?

Season 10 is one of Apex Legends’ biggest ever seasons, and it’s welcomed the popular character Seer. But who has the highest pick rates in Season 10 of Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale shooter?

Apex Legends hit the ground running when it launched with eight different characters to choose from in its rival battle royale offering. The game suffered a notable lull when Call of Duty: Warzone launched, but with many players now jumping ship to Respawn’s game, Apex Legends Season 10 is arguably its biggest ever!

There are now a whopping 18 different Legends to choose from, giving players a headache before each game. The newest one is Seer, and after a dominating start to Season 10, the 1.78 update has seen him receive a significant nerf. This has completely changed the game’s pick rates and made the Season 10 meta open again.

Between the Arenas mode and Ranked Leagues to compete in, thousands of matches have already been logged in Season 10, and we will break down and find the Legends with the highest pick rates in Season 10.

  1. Octane – 14.5%
  2. Wraith – 11.4%
  3. Pathfinder – 10%
  4. Bloodhound – 8.9%
  5. Lifeline – 8%
  6. Rampart – 7.1%
  7. Bangalore – 4.9%
  8. Seer – 4.7%
  9. Valkyrie – 4.6%
  10. Horizon – 4.2%
  11. Loba – 3.8%
  12. Fuse – 3.6%
  13. Caustic – 3.1%
  14. Mirage – 3%

  18. Crypto – 1.5%

5. Lifeline – 8%

lifeline in Apex Legends Season 10

Just clocking in at the number five spot is Lifeline. Everyone’s favorite healer takes up 8% of the Apex Legends’ picks, and for good reason too.

One of the big things that separates Apex Legends from other battle royale games is its lenience towards reviving – specifically Knockdown Shields. It provides lots of time to revive teammates and Lifeline can take advantage of this.

Her Drone of Compassion (or D.O.C) abilities can heal players over time and even revive them without needing Lifeline to do it. Her Care Package Ultimate is a bit weak, but overall, she is a great addition to any team.

4. Bloodhound – 8.9%

apex legends bloodhound character

Again, with the influx of new Apex Legends players, Bloodhound is a great character to use for new players in Season 10.

With nearly a 12% pick rate at the beginning of Season 9, Bloodhound has dipped a bit to 8.9% but still remains the third-most picked Legend. Their pick rate is rising slowly thanks to the alterations to Seer, meaning that Bloodhound is the top Recon class to use in Apex Legends.

Their tracking tools and skills are incredible, and the fleet of foot provided by their Beast of the Hunt Ultimate is priceless.

4. Pathfinder – 10%

pathfinder giving a thumbs up in apex legends

A beneficiary of the Seer nerfs, Pathfinder has become a part of Apex Legends’ top five picks at 10% and counting.

As a Recon class, Pathfinder simply excels in movements and traversing the game’s various maps. His Grappling Hook and Zipline Gun are simply invaluable assets that will help any team in a pinch – either because of the circle or a third-party situation.

2. Wraith – 11.4%

apex legends wraith character

Another starting legend, Wraith possessed a very high pick rate of nearly 14% during Season 9 and is still currently well-selected backed at 11.4%.

Wraith’s stand-out features are her ability to get out of trouble very quickly – teammates included. Her abilities allow her to sense danger, become temporarily invulnerable, and create portals to escape predicaments. It’s easy to see why Wraith continues to be an absolute fan-favorite in Apex Legends Season 10.

1. Octane – 14.5%

apex legends octane character

The king is back on his throne as the game’s number one pick. Although his pick rate isn’t quite in the 20% region like in Season 9, his still undisputedly the primary selection, and rising, at 14.5%.

Aside from his amusing quips, he is the perfect balance of offense and defense. Despite being regarded as an offensive Legend, Octane can greatly increase his sprint speed which is useful for both attack and running away. But most Octane users thrive on his Launch Pad Ultimate which can send him, and friendly players, high up into the air.

You can use this to sneak attack players, reach high-up spots for beacons, escape battles, or use it as a way to get back into the playing zone.

That covers all the picks in Apex Legends Season 10. As always, buffs and nerfs will come and go throughout the season, affecting the game’s meta, and subsequently, Legend pick rates.

We’ll be sure to keep this updated regularly so you can stay on top of the in picks, and don’t forget to check out our tier list of every Apex Legends weapon. Also, read about the potential incomings in Apex Legends Season 11.

Apex Legends leak reveals first images of new Tropical Island map

New Apex Legends leaks have revealed screenshots for the rumored Tropical Island map set to release in Season 11.

A recent leak for Apex Legends in Season 10 has presented the community with beautiful images of a rumored Tropical Island map that could release as early as next season.

Apex Legends has had a few interesting leaks over the past week thanks to the Evolution Collection Event update that introduced new code for dataminers to dig around and expose.

As well as a 3D model for Wattson’s Heirloom, leakers have also revealed further details about the rumored Tropical Island map that we could be seeing very soon, including the new Legend to go with it and some colorful images.

The rumor surrounding a Tropical Island map has been floating around for some time now, with dataminers suggesting it will be released in Season 11. At the time of this post, Respawn Entertainment hasn’t revealed anything about a new map, but as the source of these images is possibly from an “inside leak,” there is a high possibility of them being credible.

The last map that was introduced in Apex Legends was Olympus in Season 7 when the Legend Horizon was also released. Now, in Season 10, there is even a new teaser on Olympus hinting at the new map.

Reddit user DropoutCollective, also known as Thordon Smash, posted leaked images of the Tropical Island map on September 14 on the “ApexUncovered” subreddit.

Although there are only three images, each of them provides great details about what players can expect with this new map, from wildlife to the general terrain and theme of the map.

Leaked Apex Legends Tropical Island map images

The first image actually gives us a great idea of the wildlife on this map, as a Prowler can be seen in the middle of the image, as well as a mud mound which Thordon Smash says is a Prowler nest.

Further, users in the comments are suspecting that the building on the right of the image looks like some sort of animal enclosure.

Perhaps this is where the Prowlers are being kept, potentially relocated here after the disturbance of World’s Edge which was teased in the most recent Evolution Collection Event trailer when Bloodhound finds bloody Prowler tracks.

Another leaked image shows an expansive sea and beachy coastline with palm trees, which is most likely the edge of the map.

One thing this image does confirm is that the map will be a tropical island surrounded by water. The image also shows off a storm in the skybox, which could be important for the map’s lore and story.

Further, we already know Tridents will be available on the map due to previous leaks of a muddy texture for the vehicle, and this would make sense considering Tridents could be the best form of travel over the water.

Lastly, the second image in the set of three shows off a portion of the map layout, which doesn’t give much away apart from that Water will play a huge role when it comes to breaking the map up.

It seems water will run through the map and play a consistent role within the landscape, perhaps being an inconvenience that players will have to get around.

That’s all the details we can gain from these leaked images of the new Tropical Island map. For more, be sure to check out our article on how to get modded weapons in Season 10.

Apex Legends update nerfs Wattson Ultimate Ability in Season 10

The Apex Legends Season 10 Evolution Collection Event appears to have nerfed Wattson’s Ultimate Ability, reducing its effectiveness.

Published

Apex Legends’ Evolution Collection Event seems to have had an adverse effect on Wattson as the new update appears to have nerfed her Ultimate, making it unable to destroy projectiles properly.

New Collection Events are always fun in Apex Legends as they welcome a new Heirloom, and can even have a character completely takeover a town.

The Evolution Collection Event has done all of this, implemented some weapon balancing changes, and tinkered with Legends such as Rampart – finally giving her an Heirloom.

Though, one Legend change seems to be inadvertent as Wattson’s Ultimate Ability is now virtually ineffective compared to its former state.

apex legends character wattson

The problem was noticed and brought up by Twitter user @lilakeyLK, a self-proclaimed fan of Wattson, they inevitably noticed the problem very quickly.

“Huge bug/Nerf for Wattson in the latest patch. Pylon does NOT currently destroy grenades properly, and it does NOT block ordinance within the inner radius a majority of the time,” said lilakeyLK.

In normal circumstances, Wattson’s Pylon comes with several advantages: repairing damaged shields, speeding up Wattson’s tactical recharge rate, and eliminating inbound ordinance.

As the clip in the Tweet showed, the Pylon seems to be unable to detect the presence of thrown explosives and other throwable equipment.

Even though Wattson has one of the lower pick rates in Apex Legends Season 10, players who main her will be frustrated that her Ultimate has been unexpectedly nerfed.

However, given the unusual change, we fully expect Respawn Entertainment to be on the case and will surely be prepping a fix for the game.
