Frustrating Warzone glitch lets players hide as dead bodies

An incredible glitch appears to show one Warzone player dead when in actual fact they were alive and killed another player as a result.

A glitch in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 allows players to look as though they’re dead in-game when in actual fact they are alive and well. The result left one player looking embarrassed and very much dead.

Warzone has been pretty steady as of late with few proper glitches interfering with the game. True that Verdansk’s train has a deadly, game-ending trampoline glitch and players are also being subjected to Warzone’s “unknown function” Fatal Error, but we seem to be far gone from the likes of Season 3’s early map glitches.

However, a potentially new, frustrating glitch has been captured that could very easily take thousands of players unaware if it proves to be a repeatable one.

Dutton90 was minding their own business by ascending a staircase during a game of Call of Duty: Warzone when they were suddenly killed with very little warning.

Their brief video clip showed them making their way to the floor above via some steps, and they spotted an avatar essentially planking diagonally into the floor.

No name tag was visible above their head, and no weapon was seen in their hands – probably because they were buried under the floor.

Our player presumed them to be dead, carried on their way, only to be suddenly gunned down and killed without virtually any warning.

They did manage to briefly engage the target after inexplicably finding themself under fire, but it was to no avail.

Whether it was due to the lay of the land, or because the opposing player found a cunning way to position themself intentionally, or because it’s a worrying glitch, remains to be seen.

If this can be repeated though, then all players should be on high alert when they see corpses up against a wall or sticking through the ground.

CoD leakers claim Warzone may never get console FOV slider

As rumors surrounding Warzone 2 come to light, CoD leakers have shared some disappointing news for console players hoping for an FOV slider.

While console Warzone players have been desperate for an FOV slider to hit the game, prominent leakers claim that it’s “not possible” on previous-gen hardware. However, it may arrive with the rumored Warzone 2.

A field of view (FOV) slider allows players to increase how much information the game displays – helping you spot enemies that would otherwise be cut off at the side of the screen. Both Cold War and Vanguard received FOV sliders on console, but it’s still missing from Warzone.

Players have been begging Raven to add one to the game but it’s looking more and more unlikely. Rumors have been swirling around Warzone 2, and CoD leakers have claimed that the original Warzone won’t receive a console FOV slider but the sequel could.

Warzone FOV slider

In a livestream discussing everything they know about 2023’s rumored Warzone 2, industry insiders Tom Henderson and TheMW2Ghost discussed how Warzone’s sequel may only arrive on PC and next-gen consoles.

This would allow the devs to go all-out in developing the new CoD battle royale, without being limited by hardware that would be ten years old at the time of release.

Henderson is confident that “Warzone 2 will be current-gen only,” and the MWGhost said that this would allow them to implement an FOV slider without having to balance the old and current-gen consoles.

However, this news makes it extremely unlikely that Warzone’s current iteration will receive one. Henderson said that “the reason we’re not getting an FOV slider is because it’s technically not possible.”

MW2Ghost explained that “to sustain a nice resolution, an FOV slider would sacrifice graphics.” Console Warzone features dynamic resolution scaling, where the game reduces its visuals to maintain steady performance. An FOV slider would likely be so taxing that Warzone would either have to sacrifice graphics or performance.

Raven Software have said that they’re aware of requests for an FOV slider, but haven’t given any timeframe.

There’s no guarantee an FOV slider will arrive on a next-gen version of Warzone, but it’s much more likely than it arriving in Warzone’s current iteration.

Warzone Season 2 leaks claim Rebirth Island may be removed

According to notable Call of Duty insiders, Rebirth Island could soon be replaced in Warzone Pacific Season 2.

Rebirth Island in Warzone

A new leak from notable Call of Duty insiders have claimed that Warzone’s Rebirth Island may be replaced when the battle royale’s second season launches in February.

Warzone Season 1’s Pacific update gave fans a refreshing change of scenery with the addition of the Caldera map. The map may only be a couple of months old, but the game’s developers have hinted that we could see some map changes in February’s Season 2.

It seems that Caldera won’t be the only map in Warzone to go through changes in the new update. According to new leaks, Rebirth Island could be replaced with a new map in the upcoming season.

These leaks came from prominent CoD insiders ‘Tom Henderson’ and ‘TheMW2Ghost’ in a January 27 live stream, who shared some rumors about what Raven may have planned for Warzone Pacific Season 2.

TheMW2Ghost claimed that the developers may be planning to replace the popular Rebirth map: “Recently, I was told this map is coming. It’s a new map and it’s for the Warzone anniversary.”

They admitted that they don’t have any details about the new map’s size or location. The leakers also explained that it’s possible that it could just be a “new themed version of [Rebirth].”

If these leaks are accurate, then Rebirth Island could be replaced in a matter of weeks. Another notable CoD leaker ‘TheGhostOfHope’ referred to this new area as the ‘Resurgence’ map.

This insider also added that the plans for this new location aren’t confirmed, claiming that the Warzone developers haven’t decided if the Resurgence map will “replace or rotate with Rebirth Island.”

While this all sounds exciting, it’s worth keeping in mind that these are currently just leaks, and these haven’t been officially confirmed by the developers.

Rebirth Island has a limited lobby size of just 40 players and a smaller layout than Caldera. The close-quarters action makes it popular among Warzone players, and it will be missed if it’s removed from the game.

Warzone players want Raven to switch two POIs on Caldera

A Warzone player has rearranged the POIs on Caldera after the community has expressed their discontent with the map design.

Warzone’s new map hasn’t exactly been received very well by players and now the community is suggesting that Raven should switch around two of the POI’s.

Warzone‘s new map Caldera hasn’t exactly been getting positive reviews since it was introduced. As well as bugs and glitches on the map, players have also not been happy with the layout, with many missing Verdansk.

With that being said, one player decided to come up with a way to make the map better by rearranging the POIs.

Reddit user ARES_GOD put a post up in the Warzone subreddit of the Caldera map. The post is captioned: “Hey @RavenSoftware just a thought about Caldera think this would feel better… (Changing POI location).”

Upon inspection, players will notice that the map of Caldera in the post is slightly different from the actual layout of the map. In fact, two of the most popular POIs have switched positions with each other, which the player feels would make Caldera “feel better.”

The two POIs in question are Peak and Capital, which have been switched in this version of the Caldera map. Peak is usually right in the center of the map, which many players aren’t too fond of, as one of the comments states: “Yeah i just dont like peak in the middle.”

The massive mountain directly in the middle of Caldera makes it hard to rotate, as traversing up rocky terrain is notoriously difficult in Warzone.

The idea is to switch this massive height with Capital, a more level POI that would likely make it easier for players to rotate through. Players seem to like the idea, as the post has over three hundred upvotes, with comments expressing their fondness of the change: “The way you edited the map like this is incredible…more buildings at the center for strategizing.”

However, one comment has pointed out that the logistics of the change won’t make much sense: “But whos going to go to an island resort NOT on the beach. And the capital needs a water way for trade. Not very feasible. Though I agree, peak dead center, not my favorite.”

This probably won’t be the way in which Raven updates Caldera, however, they have confirmed that changes are coming.
