Fully automatic Desert Eagle set for Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded
While the Intervention and Cronen Squall arrive at launch, Infinity Ward haven’t revealed the sidearms set for Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 Reloaded yet. However, Call of Duty Japan appear to have confirmed an automatic Desert Eagle arriving in the mid-season update.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 bring more weapons to shake up the meta once again, with the fan-favorite Intervention Sniper Rifle arriving alongside the brand-new Cronen Squall Battle Rifle.
There are still two more sidearms set to arrive later in the season though, and while Infinity Ward are still keeping them secret, the Japanese Call of Duty Twitter account has revealed the weapon names, confirming a fully automatic Desert Eagle is set to arrive in May’s Season 3 Reloaded update.
In a now-deleted tweet, Call of Duty Japan revealed weapons arriving throughout Season 3, announcing the “Tango 0” and “Automatic .50 GS” Sidearms are set to arrive “in season.” If you didn’t know, the .50 GS is Modern Warfare 2’s Desert Eagle, a powerful handgun in-game.
This lines up with what we know from the Season 3 blog so far, with the devs teasing a “high-caliber pistol modified for full-auto to blast enemies back when they get too close for comfort.”
We expect the Automatic .50 GS to have a rapid time to kill, but high recoil should prevent it from being effective beyond a few meters away. However, akimbo pistols dominated both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer in the past, so we could be in for a major close-range meta change when the Season 3 Reloaded update arrives.
The Tango 0 should be the TEC-9 SMG which is all-but-confirmed after the powerful Black Ops Cold War weapon’s outline was teased in the Season 3 roadmap. This was a deadly weapon before, so we’ll need to see how powerful it is when it arrives in May.
