Game-breaking Apex Legends exploit turns Caustic completely bulletproof

After trying to nerf the Toxic Trapper, Respawn Entertainment have allowed Caustic to become bulletproof in Apex Legends Season 13.

Caustic in Apex Legends

While attempting to nerf Caustic in the Apex Legends Season 13 update, the devs have accidentally given Toxic Trapper mains a way to become completely bulletproof.

Apex Legends Season 13 is here, bringing huge nerfs to Valkyrie and introducing the brand-new Defensive Legend Newcastle. Even though Caustic has remained one of the least-picked Legends in Season 13, a powerful new exploit means he’s not to be underestimated.

Caustic can no longer hide inside his traps, which should be a considerable nerf to the Legend, but it’s actually given him the game-breaking ability to become completely bulletproof.

Caustic used to have the ability to hide inside his own traps, which was perfect for ambushing enemies for free kills. Respawn Entertainment have now nerfed this ability, making it so that his traps will be uninflated if he’s too close.

However, in fixing this exploit, they’ve unleashed another that’s much worse. As pointed out by YouTuber Skeptation, even though the trap isn’t inflated, it still has a full-size hitbox. This means that Caustic can sit inside a circle of uninflated traps and be completely bulletproof.

To make it worse, traps can’t be destroyed until they start inflating, so as long as Caustic is nearby, they’re indestructible.

But you probably shouldn’t try to replicate this glitch yourself, as Skeptation explained that because it’s an exploit, players who abuse it will probably get banned. But luckily, there are ways to defeat these bulletproof Toxic Trappers.

How to counter bulletproof Caustics in Apex Legends

Even though these Caustics can be bulletproof in Apex Legends Season 13, that doesn’t mean they’re completely invincible.

If a Caustic is hiding behind their deflated traps, players can get them out with Grenades, and even use a frag to “yeet him out of the spot.” Plus, a melee will also knock him away from the traps.

It remains to be seen just how game-breaking this new Caustic exploit will be, but at least there are a few ways to counter a player abusing this exploit.

Apex Legends devs respond to criticism by adding cheaper Apex Coins option

Respawn Entertainment have responded to player feedback by introducing a cheaper Apex Coins option in the game.

In response to complaints from Apex Legends players about the high cost of Apex Coins, Respawn Entertainment have added a cheaper currency pack option to the game.

Apex Coins are the premium currency in Apex Legends that can you purchase with real money and then spend in order to get your hands on new cosmetic items for your Legends and weapons.

You may have to purchase bigger currency packs in order to get yourself certain items, and the Apex Legends community has been frustrated with the high cost of these. Now, the devs have responded to this issue.

Apex Legends players that don’t have enough currency to unlock a specific item end up having to spend a lot on bigger currency packs. The cheapest bundle that you could get contained 1,000 Apex Coins and would set you back $9.99.

This can be particularly frustrating if you only need to use a small portion of the Apex Coins in the pack. Now, Respawn and EA have addressed this problem by adding the option to purchase currency packs with a 500 coin bundle for $4.99.

Now, you’ll be able to get yourself a decent number of Apex Coins without having to spend an extremely large amount of cash. Players that only need 400 Apex Coins to buy something, and no longer need to spend a whole $10 to do so.

The addition of this option will come as a huge relief to players that were tired of paying for currency that they didn’t need for an insanely high cost.

At the time of writing, the Apex Legends developers haven’t officially announced this change, but the arrival of this cheaper currency pack shows that they were listening to community feedback.

Apex Legends 1.99 patch notes: Lifeline’s Clinic Easter Egg, bug fixes, more

Apex Legends has a brand-new 1.99 patch which brings bug fixes and new interactive Easter Egg for Lifeline’s Clinic.

Respawn Entertainment have dropped a new patch for Apex Legends Season 13, which includes a variety of changes and even interactive objects for Lifeline’s Town Takeover.

In addition to the ranked split which occurred on June 28, Apex Legends has received a brand-new patch for Season 13, bringing a variety of bug fixes and updates to the game.

The Apex Legends 1.99 patch is small, but for those who are interested, here are the patch notes for the update.

Lifeline’s Clinic Easter Egg

This patch is very small, and Respawn Entertainment haven’t actually revealed patch notes for what the update actually brought to the game. However, thanks to dataminer Kralindo, we have information on what the update has done.

One of the most interesting changes in the patch is the addition of interactive objects in Lifeline’s Town Takeover.

In Lifeline’s Clinic, players can now play the drums, guitar, and more. Interacting with these objects will play audio, which is a little Easter Egg for Lifeline’s previous occupation as a punk band drummer, hence her drum sticks Heirloom.

Apex Legends 1.99 patch notes

Although there are no official patch notes for the Apex Legends 1.99 patch, luckily Kralindo has gone through the game’s code and figured out some of the changes.

There may be more changes server-side, but here are all the changes Kralindo managed to see:

  • Some small Newcastle tactical changes, most likely bug fixes
  • Lifeline town takeover interactive objects activated
  • 500 Apex Coins enabled in the store (via playlist)
  • Really small change for the Replicator

That’s all for the Apex Legends Season 13 1.99 patch. For more, check out how the ranked reset works.
