Game-breaking Warzone 2 Recon Drone bug gives players free wallhacks
A new Warzone 2 bug appears to give players constant live pings against their enemies, allowing them to track other players through walls with ease.
It’s no secret that Warzone 2 has had a few bugs and glitches since it first launched, ranging from frustrations of broken Perk Packages to the downright ridiculousness of dead bodies sliding around on the floor.
Every now and again a glitch comes along that can be game-breaking, and one will surely cause chaos if it becomes more common. Players are being granted free wallhacks due to a glitch with the Recon Drone where it’s constantly live-pinging players.
YouTuber ‘iizroberto’ showed off the bug in a January 12 video, revealing that a player remained constantly live-pinged even while going inside buildings. This allowed the YouTuber to track the player with ease, landing an easy kill as they ran outside of the building.
This wasn’t the only time this glitch has appeared either, as YouTuber Tomographic showed off the glitch back in December. We get a better look at it here, where he flies a Recon Drone overhead and even after it expires, one player remains live-pinged the whole time. To make matters worse, the glitch persisted even after they came back from the Gulag.
It doesn’t appear there’s any way to replicate this glitch as it seemed to happen automatically for Tomographic. However, when it does happen, it’s essentially a free kill against the other player, even if they come back from the Gulag.
Raven Software haven’t responded to the glitch at the time of writing, but we expect a plethora of bug fixes and quality-of-life updates in the Warzone 2 Season 2 update which is on the slate for February and could finally bring a Resurgence map to the game.
