7 Days to Die is getting ready for its global launch after nearly 12 years in the making. In this long-awaited survival horror, you have to survive a procedurally generated world overrun by zombies while building bases and crafting weapons.

Here’s everything known about the 7 Days to Die release date & time, including how to preload it on Xbox Series X|S and PS5.

7 Days to Die release date & time for all regions

The 7 Days to Die PC and console edition will be released on July 25, 2024, at 6PM BST/10AM PDT/1PM ET on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. Here are the launch times and dates for all regions as per the latest blog post:

Price & download size

7 Days to Die’s 1.0 release will cost $44.99 on every storefront, and the devs confirmed the download size will be around 13GB. If you already owned the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, you’ll be eligible for a 25% discount that will be available for 30 days after release.

It’s important to note that the Xbox One discount may only become available a few hours after release, so make sure to wait a bit before buying the full-release version.

You’re going to need at least 13GB available space to download it. Considering the current size is 15GB on Steam, this may change with the release of the 1.0 version. So, to be safe, keep around 20GB of space open.

How to preload 7 Days to Die on PS5 & Xbox Series X|S

Xbox

  1. Go to the Xbox Store App.
  2. Look for 7 Days to Die and enter the game’s store page.
  3. Press the “Download” button to get the game’s thumbnail to your Home page.

Note that you’ll have to buy the game again if you have the 7 Days to Die Legacy version.

PS5

  1. Open the PlayStation Store.
  2. Look for 7 Days to Die, and add it to your Wishlist.
  3. Once it’s available, you can pre-order the game.
  4. After that, go to your Game Library and select its thumbnail.
  5. To preload, check every box next to the list of contents that appears when you select the timer.

If you haven’t set your games to automatically download and update, follow these steps:

  1. Set your console to connect to the Internet while in rest mode.
  2. Go to Settings and look for “Saved Data and Game/Apps Settings.”
  3. Look for “Automatic Updates.”
  4. Turn on the “Auto-Download” or “Auto-Install in rest mode.”

Beginner tips

If this will be your first time diving into 7 Days to Die, there are a few things to keep in mind when you start your first character or server:

  1. Find a shelter as soon as you can, preferably before nighttime.
  2. Collect as many resources as you can, like Stone and Wood, to make weapons and tools.
  3. Find Food and Water.
  4. Learn where traders near you are.

There’s a ton to do in 7 Days to Die, especially before you get to your first Blood Moon, so it’s important to know everything you can about building bases and crafting to make the most of the days you have. There are also a ton of settings you can play around with to customize your server.
