Will Arena Breakout: Infinite have wipes? Devs explain
MoreFun StudiosArena Breakout: Infinite is finally in its early access stage for players worldwide, and everyone is wondering if there will be any wipes in the future.
Wipes are a common feature in extraction shooters like Escape from Tarkov and Gray Zone Warfare, and they occur once every few months.
So, here’s everything you need to know about wipes in Arena Breakout: Infinite.
Will there be wipes in Arena Breakout: Infinite?
Arena Breakout: Infinite will not have any wipes during and after the Early Access period, as clarified by the developers on their official X account. In the latest FAQ release, the devs said, “This Early Access version is open with no limits and no data wipes; all players can participate after registering an account on the official website.”
The developers have also stated, “Arena Breakout: Infinite focuses more on a tactical in-game experience, rather than RPG-style character growth or base building,” which is why the game won’t have any wipes.
Whenever a wipe happens in an extraction shooter, you lose all your weapons and items that you’ve acquired during your playthrough.
While this does reset your progress, it allows you to pursue most of the coveted items once again, providing experienced players with a new challenge and creating a level playing field for new players. This is also one of the few ways in which the developers keep the game balanced.
Many players are not happy with the idea of not having wipes, as they feel it might be difficult to keep the community engaged long-term without them. So, we’ll have to wait and see if they get introduced later down the line.
If you’re planning on hopping into the game, make sure to check if your PC matches the requirements for the game. That aside, the game has a fair number of bosses for you to defeat for powerful loot.
