Don’t Nod is about to release Banishers: Ghost of New Eden, a ghostly action RPG where players will have to fight off evil spirits with their own set of physical and magical skills.

Banishers: Ghost of New Eden is the latest action RPG of Don’t Nod, the studio behind Life Is Strange 2 and Vampyr. This new adventure will set players in New Eden, a settlement that’s riddled with ghosts and evil spirits.

Playing as Red and Antea, users will have to take the role of ghost hunters who are looking to dispel the curse that’s affecting New Eden. Everything becomes more complicated after Antea becomes a life-feeding specter, as players will need to choose between love or their oath.

Banishers: Ghost of New Eden will be released on February 13, 2024, on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

While the game was initially set to launch on November 7, 2023, Don’t Nod finally decided to push the release date to set Banishers: Ghost of New Eden apart from other huge titles released at that time.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden – Story

Set in the fictional town of New Eden in 1695, Banishers: Ghost of New Eden follows the misadventures of Banishers, Red, and Antea. Both characters are experienced spirit hunters who are entrusted with the task of dispelling a curse that has overrun New Eden with ghosts and specters.

Don’t Nod’s action RPG will let players explore and uncover the secrets of the settlements, while they level up their power and unlock new skills as Banishers.

In Banishers: Ghost of New Eden, players can use both Red and Antea’s skills, the two expert ghost hunters of New Eden. However, everything will change after Antea’s death, and while she returns as a ghost, players will need to decide if sacrificing the living is worth maintaining her spirit.

While looking for a permanent solution to their dilemma, players will need to fight off supernatural creatures that want to swarm New Eden. To do so, they can choose between Antea’s magical skills, and Red’s physical abilities and weaponry.

Banishers: Ghost of New Eden was also shown during Summer Game Fest 2023, where publisher Focus Entertainment and Don’t Nod showed the first gameplay sneak peek.

During The Game Awards 2023, Don’t Nod released a new trailer that detailed the oath of both Antea and Red, the two characters that players can choose to fight off evil spirits that want to take over New Eden.

On January 25, 2024, Don’t Nod launched Banishers: Ghost of New Eden’s story trailer, where players are introduced to the life of Antea and Red, Banishers have sworn to protect the living from malevolent spirits.

On February 4, 2024, Don’t Nod released Banishers: Ghost of New Eden’s official gameplay breakdown, where they got into a little more detail about its setting and a deeper view of its combat system and skills.
