Stronghold in Once Human

When you first start Once Human, you’ll most likely want to focus on outsurviving other players. Once you progress, though, your focus will shift to finding the best base locations to easily get the resources you need.

There are quite a few areas to build your base, which can make it overwhelming when trying to figure out where to start. So, here are the best Once Human base locations and how to move your territory.

Best early game base location in Once Human

Deadsville

Wood is an incredibly important resource in Once Human, and thankfully a lot of the starting areas you’ll be able to find it. Try and collect as much wood as you can so you don’t run out because there isn’t really a point where you don’t need it.

The forests near Deadsville, which is one of the starting areas, are a great place to make your first base so you can take advantage of this wood.

Any body of water is another ideal location to build your base in Once Human, especially because you can fish for food and collect water easily. Some water you find in the world is salted, but you can purify and drink it.

Deadsville is an area where you will find water and forests close to each other, so this would be the best spot to build your base because you’ll get the best of both worlds.

Best mid-to-late game base locations in Once Human

Chalk Peak

If you’re not too worried about resource gathering, look for cliffs near Chalk Peak to set up your base. Cliffs are often found near Forests and water, but they can be difficult to set up a base in which is why they’re more of a mid-to-late game option.

They’re fantastic for building up your defenses, although you’ll need to be on the lookout for higher-level enemies who attack more often. Chalk Peak also has a ton of minerals nearby, so you can easily harvest them for better gear as well.

These areas are the best option if you’re playing defensively, but they’re especially well set up if you’re playing with PvP on. Players are more likely to be deterred by how difficult it is to reach your base, especially if you set up turrets.

Blackfell

Near Blackfell, you can find oil fields that will make getting the resource a lot easier. It’s a mid-to late-stage base location because you’ll be attacked by strong enemies in the area, so make sure you’re ready to take them on before you place your base there.

Blackfell is near water, though, so it also serves well as a place where you can gather food and water. The main attraction is crude oil, which you can refine to yield a lot of oil.

Pollution zones

Pollution zones in Once Human are difficult because they can be tricky to spot and, well, they’re polluted. You can usually find one between Clifton and the Depleted Oil Well in the Iron River area.

They’re a nice option for a base location because you can easily harvest acid from these areas. As a result, you can create better gear more often. Due to it being a tough spot to set up in, though, you may want to wait until you’re in the mid-to-late game to give this base location a try.

How to move your base in Once Human

You can move your base in Once Human by entering build mode, finding where you want to place your base, and putting it there.

It doesn’t cost anything to move territory in the early game, and you can place it anywhere except near these areas:

  • Strongholds
  • Roads
  • Other homes

You can also adjust the height and vertical rotation of your base when you move it, plus you can enter flight mode to get a good look at your new territory.

It’s also possible to change world in Once Human if you want to play with your friends. If you’re still in the early game, be sure to also have a look at any codes they have active right now to make progression a little easier.
