Best character in Concord
It-Z is our pick for the best character in Concord, as her mobility and decoys make her hard to track and kill. The character’s SMG is also extremely deadly, especially when supercharged with her Scramble Rebound ability.
Tiers explained
- S: The best characters to pick in the game
- A: Top characters that are worth using
- B: Characters that are only good in certain situations
- C: Least effective characters that are only good in coordinated teams
Best Concord characters explained
Lark
Coming in last place is Lark, who struggles to be effective unless they have a strong team around them. Lark is all about traps and placing spores on the map to gain damage resistance, but against DPS monsters higher up on the list, they struggle to make an impact.
Daveers
Daveers is a tough character to play, as they’re centered around placing burnite pools and igniting them for crowd control. They can be strong in objective-based modes, but characters with mobility can avoid the pools with ease, making them less effective.
1-Off
1-Off is an Anchor who’s not easy to play in comparison to Emari. His kit is based around deflecting projectiles and taking damage for his team. You can do big damage with the Trash Bomb ability, but you’ll need to fill your vacuum first, making him less efficient.
Vale
Concord’s Sniper character, Vale, is a specialist who’s not easy to pick up and use. She takes some mastering, and even still her Sniper isn’t the best of weapons since you have to reload after each shot and won’t one-hit enemies with full health.
Her Trip Mine is pretty powerful though, and if you can get consistent headshots, her rifle handling increases, so you can get shots off more quickly. Pair this with the Leap ability and you can get some pretty great clips.
Jabail
Next we have Jabail, who’s a Ranger with an easy-to-use kit that lacks in damage. You can heal yourself and your team with his Life Pulse and also do damage with the Hunter Orb, but you’ll need to stay away from the action, as he doesn’t have much in terms of mobility apart from a Triple Jump.
Duchess
Duchess is a complex character that requires some thought. Her Construct Wall ability is very useful for crowd control and can be strong on certain maps and modes.
The BA02 SMG is a powerful close-range weapon with low recoil thanks to her Ranger Crew Bonus, but much like Jabail, she struggles when she encounters more DPS-based characters and requires teamwork.
Bazz
One of the most fun characters to use in the game is Bazz, as she’s all about being sneaky and getting up close and personal with the enemy.
She does big damage with her Throwing Knives and Lunging Strike melee attack, but as she has to be extremely close to be effective, this ultimately makes her difficult to use and an easy target to pick off if you run into a sticky situation.
Star Child
This Breacher is a handful. Star Child is a tank that needs to be amongst the action. Kills refresh his abilities and his abilities are all about kills. Use the Rage Rush to charge in with protection from his diamond-hard skin, and crush them with the Power Slam.
Star Child also has a Shotgun, which does high damage at close range. All in all, his kit is about getting close to the enemy, so those who love to be in the action constantly will feel at home with him.
Kyps
Kyps is a stealthy assassin who relies on their ability to go invisible after a dodge. Damaging an enemy while cloaked will reset your dodge, allowing you to go invisible once more. If you can successfully chain this and remain undetected, Kyps is a top pick.
Haymar
Haymar is a Warden with a Flame Shot Bow that does huge damage. She relies a lot on her Hover and Air Dodge movement style, as you want to be in the air with this character. However, it’s also her biggest weakness, as she can be an easy target when floating.
That said if you can hit shots with the bow and combo that with the Blinding Flash and Wall of Fire, Haymar can be one of the best characters to run in Concord.
Daw
The best healer in Concord is Daw, mainly thanks to his Healing Pad. He also provides excellent protection with his Safety Dome, which is a great tool for taking objectives and preventing teammates from dying. Place a Healing Pad in the Safety Dome if you want to be a team player.
Teo
Teo is arguably the easiest and most straightforward character to use in Concord, as he has two easy-to-use rifles, Smoke Grenades, and Clusters that can do big damage. His passive also allows him to see through the smoke while aiming down sights with his weapon, adding a layer of protection and deception to his gameplay.
Teo also has a Double Jump and Double Doge, making him hard to hit and easy to get away with.
Emari
Emari is the best Anchor in Concord, as she takes less damage to the body thanks to her Tough as Nails Passive, can provide teammates with armor using her Armor Generator ability, and can block enemy damage with her Protective Shield.
Her Rotary Scrap Cannon has a bunch of bullets that allow you to suppress enemies and get a fast kill, especially if you shoot it long enough for its fire rate to speed up.
Roka
As a Haunt, Roka has some crazy mobility, making her hard to hit and extremely fun to use. This is mainly thanks to her Triple Jump and Air Dodge Movement Style, as well as the Hover Thrusters ability which allows you to stay in the air.
You can fly around the maps and destroy enemies from above with her SAL-90 Light Missile Launcher using her mobility, and then drop down on them for big damage with Blast Dive.
Lennox
Lennox is Concord’s best Warden, with an all-around kit that allows versatility. Both his weapons are powerful, with the HL-4 “Bell Ringer” Heavy Handgun being the more long-range option, while the Chesterly Model 3 Revolver is all about fire rate and finishing kills off.
Using Claxton Healing, you’ll be able to stay in the fight for longer, as there’s no need to retreat for heals. Further, the Exploding Knife allows for some quick kills, as if you stick an enemy with it and hit them a couple of times with the Heavy Handgun, they’ll likely be done for.
It-Z
Our pick for the best character in Concord is It-Z, as she has fast mobility, survivability, and can be extremely deceptive with her decoys.
The EL120 Electrostatic SMG is a powerful close-range weapon, and if you manage to hit someone with her Scramble Rebound ability, it powers the weapon up, making it even stronger.
By far the most fun ability of It-Z’s is her Cosmic Slip, which allows you to teleport and leave a decoy behind. It can be extremely evasive and I found myself getting kills on the brink of death after teleporting to an unsuspecting location. She also leaves decoys behind when dodging, making her extremely great at slipping away.
Crew Bonuses explained
- Anchor – Increased healing received
- Breacher – Lower Dodge cooldown
- Haunt – Increased mobility
- Ranger – Lower weapon recoil
- Tactician – Improved reload speed
- Warden – Increased weapon damage range
Each character has a Crew Bonus too, and there are six in total. These Crew Bonuses offer unique passive abilities that further enhance their playstyles.
They allow players to understand the character’s role within a team. For example, Anchors are the tanks of Concord so they take increased healing, while Haunts are the aggressive duelers with increased mobility.
Using the best characters will certainly help you in Concord, but you’ll want to pair them with the best controller settings to get the most out of your performance in the beta.
