How to install Save Files in The Sims 4

Step by step, here is how to install a Save File: 

  1. Download the Save File from the creator of your choice’s website
  2. Go to your Downloads folder and extract or unzip the file. The file will be named something similar to ‘Slot_0000001a.save.’
  3. Backup your old saves before installing. 
  4. Locate your Sims 4 Saves file by navigating to Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 4>Saves
  5. Copy the ‘Slot_0000001a.save’ into your Sims 4 Saves folder. 

Once you have followed these steps, you should be able to load your game and start playing in your new Save File. It is also important to note that some creators have specific directions on their Save Files, so make sure to check out all the information on the website you download the Save File from. 

How to create your own Save File in The Sims 4

Sims 4 players can create their own Save File by saving their game, copying the file, and pasting it into a new folder.

Here are the steps to creating your own Save File: 

  1. Save your game after you have created your world. 
  2. Click on ‘Load Game’ and select your Save File. You can rename it here.  
  3. Click the icon that says ‘Copy the save file path to the clipboard.’
  4. Navigate to Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 4>Saves and find the correct file.
  5. Copy this file into a new folder. 

When you’ve clicked the icon that copies your Save file path to the clipboard, make sure to take note of the name that pops up when you hover over it. This will tell you the correct file to save and copy to your new folder.
