Leveling in No Rest for the Wicked can be a burdensome task when you aren’t sure where to put your attribute points, so here is everything you need to know about each attribute and the best way to level.

No Rest for the Wicked lets you customize the way you want to play your character by choosing which attributes you level up as you go. In conjunction with weapons, it’s a soft-class system that gives you a bit more leeway than the average RPG.

This means that it could be a little challenging to choose how to level when you get your attribute points. So, here are all the attributes explained and how you should consider leveling your character.

Best stats to level in No Rest for the Wicked

At the start of No Rest for Wicked, it’s best to put your attribute points into Health, Stamina, and Focus

The beginning of No Rest for the Wicked lets you get familiar with different weapons and the combat system. Your main goal is to get to Sacrament, and while you have a lot of space to explore, it may take some time to get used to the enemies and combat on the way.

For this reason, it’s best to invest your attribute points into stats like Health, Stamina, and Focus. All three of these help you survive a little longer:

  • Health lets you take more hits
  • Stamina allows you to make use of your attacks and dodges more often
  • Focus lets you use your Rune attacks more often

Arguably, Health and Stamina are the more important stats of the three, but all of them will give you an edge in combat so that you can familiarize yourself with it a lot easier.

A fourth attribute to consider leveling is Equip Load. This determines how much you can carry before becoming over-encumbered, but it’s also an important stat to consider if you want to play as a heavy character. So, keep an eye on it for now, but don’t bother yourself too much with it just yet.

Best stats to level mid-late game

Once you’ve reached Sacrament, leveled up a bit, and got your hands on better gear, it will be time to start thinking about the other attributes you can level.

This is more where you take the wheel because the stats you decide to level will directly impact what kind of weapons you can use effectively. Once you have reached this point, you should have a pretty good idea of how you want to play the rest of the game.

Strength, Intelligence, Faith, and Dexterity all let you do more damage with weapons that have those stats attached to them. So, it all depends on what your favorite weapons are and what kind of playstyle you are leaning toward.

This is particularly where Equip Load will come into play, though, as it plays a big role in what kind of character you play.

The more weight you carry, the more likely you will enter into a heavy stance which will slow down your dodge, but you will also get a shove attack. The lighter your load, the quicker your dodge will be.

All No Rest for the Wicked attributes explained

No Rest for the Wicked has eight different attributes that you can level up by using the points you get by leveling your character.

Here are all the stats explained:

  • Health: Increases your maximum hit points.
  • Stamina: Increases your stamina meter so you have a larger pool for dodging, parrying, blocking, and attacking.
  • Strength: Increases the amount of damage you can inflict on enemies with a Strength-based weapon.
  • Dexterity: Increases the amount of damage you can inflict on enemies with a Dexterity-based weapon.
  • Intelligence: Increases the amount of damage you can inflict on enemies with an Intelligence-based weapon.
  • Faith: Increases the amount of damage you can inflict on enemies with a Faith-based weapon.
  • Focus: Determines the amount of times you can use weapon Rune attacks.

To level up, you can navigate to the stats menu by pressing Tab on PC and selecting the stats dropdown menu. Once you are here, click on the arrows next to your chosen attribute to add points to it.
