Best Yujin build in The First Descendant

The First Descendant has a wide range of characters, and each has a special set of abilities that can adapt to any playstyle. If you’re looking for the strongest healer in the game, then Yujin is the Descendant for you.

Here’s what you need to know about the best weapons, Modules, and more to create the best Yujin build.

Best Yujin build

  • Modules: Autoimmunity, Amplification Control, Battle of Stamina
  • Reactor: Materialized Singularity
  • External Components: Max Shields, Max HP
  • Weapon: Divine Punishment

Yujin is the best support character you’ll find in The First Descendant. He can turn any battle around thanks to an Ultimate ability that won’t only heal your whole group, but will also purge and give immunity to any debuffs that were affecting his teammates.

On the downside, he doesn’t do much damage and can be an easy target for any incoming heavy attack. That’s why equipping him with anything that buffs his shields and HP will let him endure longer battles, and reducing his skills’ cooldown will make your team unstoppable.

Best Module Setup

SLOTMODULEDESCRIPTION
1 (Skill Module)Proliferating AllergyInflicts Explosive Reaction. Deals damage to nearby enemies when the effect ends or the enemy dies. This spreads whenever an enemy is killed.
2AutoimmunityReduces incoming damage and improves health regeneration.
3Amplification ControlImproves the range of Area of Effect abilities and increases Max Shield.
4Nimble FingersReduces Skill cooldown.
5Weighing the ScalesIncreases Max Shield and reduces Skill cost.
6Battle of StaminaIncreases Max HP and Skill duration.
7 (Sub Module)Shock PunchReplaces melee with an Electric punch and increases maximum module capacity when upgraded.
8AgonyIncreases Max MP and DEF.
9Stim AccelerantIncreases Max HP significantly and slightly reduces MP.
10Medical SupportModerate HP heal.
11Conditional RechargeOn skill use, HP is consumed by 4% and 3% of Max Shield is recovered
12Resist ModuleInterchangeable depending on what you’re fighting, pick an Elemental Resistance that counters your enemy.

Yujin is a support character who needs to keep high mobility on the battlefield to be able to get to any allies that need his healing skills. Equipping him first with Proliferating Allergy and Autoimmunity should be your priority since his base stats will make you struggle a bit during the early and mid-game.

After that, any module that will help you reduce your skills’ cooldown, such as Nimble Fingers, and Battle of Stamina, is what will get you through longer battles where you’ll be spamming them constantly.

While it reduces MP, getting Stim Accelerant can be a game changer during the endgame, as well as Resist Module. This last one is crucial to polish the best Yujin build since it will let you customize his resistance depending on the enemy you are fighting.

Best Reactors

Since our build focuses on his Solidarity Healing skill, you should prioritize getting the Materialized Singularity Reactor. You can also equip him with anything that buffs his Non-Attribute and Fusion skills, such as Materialized Mixture.

Best External Components

The trick to playing Yujin is to give him any External Component that buffs Max Shields, Max HP, HP Recovery, or DEF. These will let him take some damage while chasing around other teammates, and allowed me to position him closer to the fight.

Best weapons

The Divine Punishment Assault RifleAfterglow Sword Sniper Rifle, and Nazeiestra’s Devotion Hand Cannon are all essential for the best Yujin build in The First Descendant.

Divine Punishment

  • Firearm ATK: 23
  • Fire Rate: 705
  • Reload Speed: 1.55 seconds
  • Effective Range: 30m
  • Prayer: Granting a buff to allies excluding yourself will grant the Meditation to yourself. Recovering an ally’s HP, Shield, MP or Resources will grant the unique ability Praise to yourself. Inflicting a debuff on an enemy will grant the unique ability Glory to yourself.
    • Meditation: Increases DEF by a base of 10% for 30 seconds. This effect stacks up to 3 times and increases DEF by 5% per extra stack.
    • Praise: Reduces Skill cooldown (amount dependent on Skill).
    • Glory: Increases the base stat for Firearm ATK with each equipped weapon.
Divine Punishment Assault Rifle

The Divine Punishment is the best weapon for Yujin, as all his abilities revolve around buffing your team. Its passives will also help you make this character a little less squishy, even if the weapon’s base Firearm ATK isn’t as high as other options.

Nazeistra’s Devotion

  • Firearm ATK: 400
  • Fire Rate: 150
  • Reload Speed: 1.5 seconds
  • Effective Range: 25m
  • Fanaticism: On hitting an enemy’s Weak Point, inflicts the unique ability Devotion Mark on the target enemy. On hitting an ally, that ally’s shield is restored at the cost of your MP. If your current MP is less than the MP cost, this effect is not triggered.
Nazeistra's Devotion Hand Cannon in The Firs Descendant

Naziestra’s Devotion Hand Cannon perfectly harmonizes with Yujin’s kit, as it allows you to heal allies that you can’t reach with his skills. Since this Descendant has low damage output, the weapon’s Firearm ATK and FPS let you quickly slip away from any dangerous situation.

Afterglow Sword

  • Firearm ATK: 240
  • Fire Rate: 66
  • Reload Speed: 2.5 seconds
  • Effective Range: 55m
  • Nightmare Reaper: On hitting an enemy’s weak point, inflicts the unique ability of Death Propagation. On hitting an enemy commander or colossi, it increases Firearm Critical Hit rate.
Afterglow Sword first descendant

If you want to keep Yujin away from the battle, you can equip him with the Afterglow Sword. While you’ll have to place him strategically so he can keep using his skills, this Sniper Rifle will let you focus on Weak Point damage, which works particularly well during boss battles.

Best Active Skill

The best Active Skill is Solidarity Healing, as its entire kit will revolve around his ability to restore his allies back to health even when they are scattered around the battlefield. This ability will deploy a drone that follows other players to wherever they go in a range of 15 meters. After it’s done, it will also increase your Firearm ATK and Skill Power momentarily.

After playing with Yujin for a while, I was convinced that he isn’t very necessary in the early game, but becomes indispensable for harder difficulty settings and endgame missions. Although at first it seems like there’s no way he’ll survive through an entire battle, understanding the timing of his cooldowns is what helps you turn him into a key element of every team.

While his damage output shouldn’t be your priority, you can also consider using the Restructure Serum skill, which will let your allies deal increased damage to the enemy that you targeted. Since this skill will affect anyone in an 8-meter range, it’s ideal to use during boss battles.

Abilities explained

  • Stop Overreacting (Passive): Significantly reduces the time to rescue allies. Targets rescued by Yujin are healed to Max HP for a limited time.
  • Solidarity Healing: Summons a Recovery Drone that attaches to allies to heal them. Recovers target and increases their ATK through an Accelerant effect upon dismissal.
  • Restructure Serum: Fires a Restructure Serum forward, decreasing DEF and inflicting Allergy. When attacking enemies with Allergy, heals nearby allies and grants additional healing to allies who kill the enemy.
  • Stimulant Spray: Grants Stimulation to allies. While Stimulation is active, incoming DMG is reduced and recovery is received when Stimulation ends.
  • Hyperreactive Healing Ground (Ultimate): Heals self and allies, granting Purification and Immunity to remove and prevent debuffs. Additional recovery is based on the number of allies and enemies within range. Yujin is granted Hyper Activity effect, increasing his ATK and skill power.
