Crysis 4 announced: Reveal trailer & platforms
The developers behind the Crysis series, Crytek, have officially announced the development of Crysis 4 with an announcement trailer.
It’s been nine years since Crysis 3 was released, but thankfully fans have been able to relive the experience recently through the Crysis Remastered Trilogy, which was released in 2021.
The Crysis franchise has always been known for pushing the bar when it comes to graphics, mechanics, and overall innovation when it comes to game development. Now, in 2022, the developers have teased a fourth game, getting fans excited for a new next-gen experience.
A lot has changed since Crysis was released. At the time, the games were extremely impressive and stood as a benchmark for the power of a PC with the phrase “can it run Crysis?”
The games were innovative and took advantage of the most up-to-date technology of the times. Now in 2022, Crysis 4 is officially happening, and the developers are looking to continue the trend of creating a “truly next-gen shooter,” as they stated in their announcement blog post.
Does Crysis 4 have a release date?
Crysis 4 has only just been announced, so unfortunately there is no official release date for the game. Having said that, the developers did give players an inclination as to how far they are through development:
“Right now the game is in the early stages of development so it will be a while yet…as development progresses we will release more details when we can.”
Despite being in early development, the developers seem committed to creating another installment of Crysis that lives up to the expectations of the original games.
As more information is uncovered about Crysis 4, we will be sure to update this piece so make sure you check back here soon.
What platforms will Crysis 4 be available on?
It’s unclear exactly which platforms Crysis 4 will be available on, as the game is so early on in development.
However, as the blog post mentions the developer’s aim to create a “truly next-gen shooter,” we can safely say that the game will likely be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
It could also be available on the previous generation of consoles, but due to the franchise’s reputation of pushing hardware to the limit, we’ll have to wait for official news. Again, once more information regarding the available platforms is released, we will update this article.
Crysis 4 announcement trailer
Along with the blog post, Crytek also released a teaser for the game. The trailer is only an announcement for the working title, but will still get fans of the original games hyped for its release and development.
The trailer features some pretty impressive visuals, with the iconic Crysis helmet being visible for a short second as rubble starts to fall and cover it up.
Hopefully, these visuals will translate into the game, as the video is definitely visually pleasing and high quality.
