How to get the Dragon’s Breath Catalyst in Destiny 2
To get the Dragon’s Breath Catalyst in Destiny 2, you need to collect the Seasonal Weapon Catalyst Quest called “An Old Flame” from Banshee-44 in the Tower. Then, you will need to follow a series of steps to “recreate” the Dragon’s Breath Catalyst.
Keep in mind that only Guardians who purchased the Season Pass for Destiny 2 will be granted access to the Seasonal Weapon and Catalyst Quest.
How to complete An Old Flame Quest in Destiny 2
To complete An Old Flame Quest in Destiny 2, you need to complete a series of tasks for Banshee-44, which include using Dragon’s Breath to defeat opponents and gathering calibration data. Here’s what you need to do to complete the quest:
Dragon’s Breath Catalyst Quest Step 1/3
The first step to unlock Dragon’s Breath Catalyst in Destiny 2 consists of defeating targets and using the intrinsic Perk of the weapon, which causes Scorch damage:
- Defeat 50 enemies affected by Scorch.
- Defeat 5 bosses affected by Scorch.
The first step can be done quite easily against any type of enemy. Bosses are a little bit trickier, as it requires the boss to be affected by the Scorch debuff to count for the objective of the quest.
You don’t need to use the Dragon’s Breath to cause Scorch in your opponents. Using any other weapon or ability that causes Scorch and then shooting them down with Dragon’s Breath will do.
Dragon’s Breath Catalyst Quest Step 2/3
For the next step in Destiny 2’s Dragon’s Breath Catalyst quest, you need to collect calibration data from activities and defeated opponents.
- Defeat 150 Targets using Dragon’s Breath.
- Generate 200 Calibration data by completing activities while Dragon’s Breath is equipped.
Defeating several opponents for the first part of this step can be easily done in Altars of Sorrow on the Moon.
Calibration data is generated by completing activities while equipped with Dragon’s Breath. Higher-tier activities such as Nightfall or Dungeons grant more Calibration Data.
Dragon’s Breath Catalyst Quest Step 3/3
For the third and final part of the Destiny 2 Dragon’s Breath Catalyst Quest, you need to return with Banshee-44 to deliver the data collected and claim your Catalyst.
- Talk to Banshee-44 in the Tower to claim the Dragon’s Breath Catalyst.
Now, the final step would be to equip and activate the Dragon’s Breath Catalyst, which can be done from the Weapon’s menu.
How to activate the Dragon’s Breath Catalyst in Destiny 2
To activate the Dragon’s Breath Catalyst in Destiny 2, you will need to defeat an extra 100 opponents affected by Scorch using the weapon.
Doing so will unlock the Pyromancer Catalyst Perk, which replenishes Dragon’s Breath Fuel from its intrinsic Perk, prolonging the duration of the Scorching effect it causes.
