Does Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora have third-person mode?
UbisoftAvatar: Frontiers of Pandora is primarily a first-person shooter, but some first-person titles allow you to play in the third person. Here’s whether you can play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora in the third person.
The official adaptation of James Cameron’s iconic alien paradise, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, is developed by Massive Entertainment. Past titles developed by Massive, like The Division games and even the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws, are third-person.
While Avatar borrows more from Ubisoft’s other IP, Far Cry, than any of the other titles Massive is known for, the latest Far Cry 6 had third-person gameplay whenever you were inside a safe house or when using some backpack abilities.
So, here’s whether Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has a third-person feature.
Is there a third-person mode in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora?
No, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora does not have a dedicated third-person mode. The only time you can play in third-person is when you fly on Banshee. Combat when flying is also in third-person.
Players have been longing for a third-person mode ever since the game was announced to be first-person, and speaking with IGN, game director Ditte Deenfeldt said the choice was due to “immersion.”
“We want you to get up close to nature, which is kind of the main character to some degree in the game, and the very best way of doing that is being in first-person.”
Based on the reasons Ubisoft shared, it seems unlikely that the game will ever get a third-person mode. We’ll update you if there is a hint of any full-fledged mode as such.
