As of now, there’s no official confirmation of a romance system featured in Dragon’s Dogma 2. However, there’s always a chance that you will still be able to romance characters in the game.

These options were seen in the first game, and players could romance a character they loved if they had a high enough rating with them. Considering Dragon’s Dogma 2 does not abandon the core mechanics of the previous game, don’t be surprised to find the beloved system in the title.

In an interview with IGN, Game Director Hideko Itsuno shared some details about the affinity and the relationship system in the game. He said: “This game features affinity and relationships between NPCs as well. For example, if you find a pair of friends, hitting one will cause the other to get mad at you too. Or if you do something nice for the child, the parent might thank you and like you more as well.”

The game’s director further added: “That’s what I mean by relationships between NPCs. NPCs also have a level of affinity for the player. It’s not very realistic for two NPCs to get along with each other if they both like the same person, right?”

Although Itsuno hasn’t directly confirmed the romance options in Dragon’s Dogma 2, they’ve mentioned that players will be able to get friendly with NPCs, which indicates that romance could be a possibility.
