Does Helldivers 2 have offline mode?

Helldivers 2 has officially been released, and players have flocked to join the galactic fight for freedom. It is primarily an online multiplayer game, but does it have offline functionality? Here’s all the details.

Helldivers 2 is an online multiplayer third-person shooter where players are tasked with fighting against alien threats in a hostile galaxy. 

Players are able to play with up to three friends to progress through the game and level up their gear. There are a variety of really tough enemies and guns to use, and fans have been looking forward to its release since the announcement in 2023.

Can you play Helldivers 2 offline?

Unfortunately, you cannot play Helldivers 2 in offline mode. 

Helldivers 2 is an online multiplayer team shooter, as described in the Playstation store. You can join a squad with up to three friends or play solo, but there is no single-player campaign that can be completed offline. 

As such, you need an internet connection to play the game, whether or not you have decided to play with friends. It’s good to note that the game has been advertised as co-op, so it’s probably best to grab a friend or two for the most enjoyable experience. 

Some fans were not happy with this revelation, however, as the first Helldivers did have an offline mode. Despite that, the game has launched to a pretty successful run and mostly positive feedback from players. 

Arrowhead Studios, the developers of Helldivers 2, have not expressed whether an offline mode or single-player campaign will be available in the future, but we’ll keep you updated if this ever changes.
