Dragon’s Dogma 2 features different classes that are categorized into different Vocations. Game Director Hideaki Itsuno shared their ideas about the best classes for beginners.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has ten different classes that are segregated into three different Vocations. It’s worth noting that each of these classes has unique skills and abilities, that allow players to build their characters depending on the playstyle that they would like to adopt.

While veterans of the RPG genre won’t have an issue starting with any class they wish to, Hideaki Itsuno shared their views on the classes that are best for beginners in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

In an interview with GamesRadar, he suggested that players should start with classes based on the kind of games they mostly played.

To elaborate on that example, he added, “If you’re an FPS or third-person shooter player and you’ve got good aim, then the Archers could be a good match because the better you can aim, the better you will do with that kind of ranged character.”

It’s important that you head into combat with the right party setup.

However, he also said that players were free to pick whatever class they wanted to play with. Itsuno added, “If it’s more of a rounded build you’re going for, particularly at the beginning of Dragon’s Dogma 2 if you’re new to the series, then I’d recommend picking the Fighter.

The Game Director also mentioned that a proper party setup was important because while some parties were capable of eliminating bosses with ease, they could get killed by a pack of wolves.

When talking about the different Vocations, Itsuno shared his party setup. He said, “I will have my three pawns be Sorcerers, and for the Arisen themselves I will use the Warfarer class which allows you to take on various abilities across all different Vocations.”

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is here after a 12-year-long wait, and players are eager to jump into the game and try out the different classes and Vocations for themselves.
