Dragon’s Dogma 2 story & setting
Dragon’s Dogma centers around the unending conflict between two nations— the human kingdom of Vermund and the eastern kingdom of Battahl, even though both want to exterminate the dragon that took the protagonist’s heart.
Like the previous installment, you play as the Arisen in Dragon’s Dogma 2. We see the Arisen, Dragon’s Dogma 2 players, facing several gigantic enemies in the trailers, giving a little insight into the story and its antagonists.
The story remains straightforward and will last almost the same number of hours as the first entry, as confirmed by the game’s director in a Game Informer interview.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is set in a world that’s parallel to the previous installment. The theme is set around Gransys, the same fantasy-themed world from the previous 2012 title, but will be four times bigger than the first Dragon’s Dogma.
For those who love exploration in RPGs, Dragon’s Dogma 2 seems to be the perfect game. Aside from an extensive list of endemic life and monsters roaming throughout the map, it seems like players will never be exhausted from exploring everything Dragon’s Dogma 2 has to offer.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 gameplay explained
Dragon’s Dogma 2 sees players travel a vast open world with their party, taking on quests and battling giant monsters.
The game has three categories of classes or Vocations, which are Starting, Advanced, and Hybrid Vocations, and you will be able to unlock each class in these categories by progressing through the game. You won’t be able to play with your friends but you get to recruit AI-controlled companions.
Players will be able to use the newly introduced Pawn system and take on the wide range of quests and activities present in the game. Aside from the main questline, you can take on hundreds of side quests and interact with various characters while hunting monsters and enhancing your build.
Will Dragon’s Dogma 2 have Graphics settings?
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will not feature multiple Graphics settings or modes like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth or other next-gen console games. The game’s director Hideaki Itsuno confirmed via X that Capcom’s upcoming RPG will have uncapped framerate on all versions.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will skip the usual Performance & Graphics mode, focusing on one single mode that will be turned on by default in the game’s settings.
