Elden Ring Fire builds as mostly incomplete without the Blasphemous Blade, one of the most broken swords in the game. Here’s how to get it alongside some of its best builds in Elden Ring.

Elden Ring has become one of the biggest releases in history after its monumental launch back in 2022. Now that its highly anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree DLC will be released on June 21, you must be looking to get back into the title to brush up on its challenging mechanics.

With a boatload of interesting weapons to try out in a massive open world, some of them are bound to be a bit overpowered, which means players want to track them down. One such weapon is the Blasphemous Blade as FromSoftware had to nerf it several times to make it more balanced.

However, even after several nerfs, the Blasphemous Blade still remains one of the best weapons in Elden Ring, and here’s how to get it in the game.

How to get Blasphemous Blade in Elden Ring

You will have to defeat Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, and use his Rememberance to get the Blasphemous Blade in Elden Ring. As you will encounter Rykard after completing a handful of quests for the Volcano Manor, it will more or less be a mid-to-end game weapon depending on your playstyle.

The Blasphemous Blade is still one of the strongest weapons in Elden Ring.

Volcano Manor is a completely separated area and you can either travel to it from Liurnia of the Lakes or take a much straighter route from Leyndel/Mt Gelmir. Regardless of your route, you will have to complete a bunch of assassination quests for the Manor to get access to the Rykard boss fight.

Although Rykard may seem like a difficult boss, thanks to his gigantic frame and intimidating serpent form, it gets quite easy if you are not under-leveled and using the Serpent Hunter spear right in front of the boss arena in Elden Ring.

Once you have defeated him, head over to the Roundtable Hall and redeem the Remembrance to get the Blasphemous Blade. As it is a special weapon, you will need Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade it, and it can go to a maximum of +10.

Best Blasphemous Blade builds in Elden Ring

Although Blasphemous Blade scales with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith in Elden Ring, we recommend you to stick to Faith as your primary skill (alongside Vigor if you don’t want to get one-shotted in late game), as once it’s fully upgraded, it gets a B in Faith scaling, instead of a C in the others.

These are the best items to pair it with to make the best Blasphemous Blad builds:

  • Erdtree Seal +10: S Faith scaling, but optional if you want to use incantations for buffs.
  • Talismans:
    • Shard of Alexander: Greatly boosts Attack Power of Skills by 15%.
    • Fire Scorpion Charm: Increases Fire Damage by 12%, but increases Physical Damage taken by 10%.

Bump up your Faith to increase the damage of the blade in Elden Ring.

Once you unlock more Talisman slots in Elden Ring, you can also get the Carian Filligreed Crest to reduce FP costs by 25% so that you can cast the special move ‘Taker’s Flame’ a lot more than usual.

Although there are several other builds you can go for, the prime focus of every Blasphemous Blade build remains the same, which is amplifying the Fire damage of the special attack as much as possible with talismans and incantations.

For the mid-game, you can put most of your points into Faith as it is the most damage-increasing node for the Blasphemous Blade. However, once you reach the absolute end-game with the last few bosses remaining, make sure to bump your Vigor and Mind stats as well to increase your HP and FP respectively.
