Genshin Impact 4.2 update brings welcome change to weekly bosses
HoYoversePlayers no longer have to slog through Genshin Impact’s quests to unlock weekly bosses if they don’t feel like it. The said quality of life update will be added in the upcoming 4.2 update, along with several other improvements.
One of the major frustrations for newer players in Genshin Impact, or players who play multiple accounts, is having to complete certain major quests to fully upgrade their favorite characters.
Suppose you’ve pulled for the tea-obsessed brute Wriothesley, to upgrade all his talents, you then have to complete the second part of Nahida’s character quests. That’s not too much, but what makes this tedious for some players is you have to play the entire Sumeru Archon Quest to unlock Nahida’s character quest in the first place.
All of that is on top of a mountain of pre-requisite quests to unlock the Archon quest itself. But that changes with Genshin Impact’s version 4.2, as you no longer need to play all of these quests to play weekly bosses.
The feature was announced by HoYoverese in their October 25 blog post, alongside several other QoL changes that will be touched on in their Special Program livestream.
There is a catch, however: you’ll have to reach Adventure Rank 40 to be able to Quick Challenge locked Trounce Domains through the Adventurer Handbook and it is only available in single-player mode.
Nonetheless, it is a welcomed QoL improvement and players seem happy about the change. Other improvements coming in version 4.2 on Genshin Impact include:
- An “Accept Quest” prompt after unlocking the Story Quest through keys, so quests do not start right away and players don’t have to worry about wasting keys.
- The map pins limit will increase to 200.
- A batch-deleted pins feature so you can delete all similar pins.
- Share deck and faster duel feature will be available for TCG.
All of them are neat QoL changes. Until version 4.2 is available, check out our build guide for Venti and Hu Tao.
