Genshin Impact is a unique action RPG that can be enjoyed alone as well as with friends. While you won’t miss out on anything when playing alone, you can grind domains and fight bosses like Raiden Shogun with your friends using the game’s Co-op mode.
In addition, your in-game friends can help you with puzzles, exploration, and several other things when they’re in your world. The game supports cross-platform multiplayer, which means that if you play on a PlayStation 5, you can enter the world of an in-game friend playing on a mobile device or PC and vice versa.
So, here’s how to add friends in Genshin Impact on the PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile.

Regardless of your platform, you can add friends in Genshin Impact with their User ID (UID). This nine-digit UID appears under your name in the Paimon Menu and also in the bottom right corner of the screen at all times.
Once you have your UID, follow these steps to make friends in Genshin Impact:
- Launch Genshin Impact
- Pause the game by opening the Paimon Menu. On the PlayStation 5, you can press the Options button on the controller’s right. On mobile, simply tap on Paimon’s head in the top left corner. On PC, you can press Esc.
- Go to Friends. In the second tab, enter or copy-paste your friends’ UID.
- Send a friend request and wait for the player to accept it.
After becoming friends, you can chat, share items during events, and enter each other’s worlds in Genshin Impact. However, it is important to note that the Co-Op mode in the game is unlocked at Adventure Rank 16.
Reaching AR 16 in Genshin Impact isn’t a tedious task. If you follow the main story for some hours, you should unlock the Co-op mode quite easily.
That was everything you need to know about making friends in Genshin Impact on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile.
