According to the official in-game rankings, Texas A&M’s Kyle Field is the hardest place to play in College Football 25. However, the decision to make the home of the Aggies the toughest stadium has been a hot topic among fans.
This is mainly because Texas A&M’s home record in recent seasons has been nowhere near as impressive as some of the other teams on the list. They’re also only the 18th-best team in the game based on their 85 overall rating, well below the likes of Georga and Oregon (94).
As a result, fans feel that the devs have put a lot of stock in the stadium’s past reputation and the fact that it’s one of the largest in college football, with a capacity of over 112,000.
Rankings explained
EA Sports have said that they use the following criteria to decide which stadiums are the hardest to play in:
- Home winning percentage
- Home game attendance
- Active home winning streaks
- Team prestige
- Additional unknown factors
Since the rankings are heavily weighted on form, they could easily change throughout the season as updates are rolled out.
What is home advantage in College Football 25??
The crowd at an away stadium impacts the composure of players during a match, making them more likely to misplace a throw or fumble the ball. This is shown by the Stadium Pulse meter at the side of the screen, which increases or decreases based on the home team’s momentum or the importance of the next play.
At stadiums that are ranked higher in terms of difficulty, the Stadium Pulse will have a much more drastic effect on your team.
For example, if the crowd is in the head of the Quarterback, the preview lines that show where each runner is going will be blurred and skewed, making it much harder to anticipate where to throw. The button prompts above their head might also disappear, which might force you into a play you didn’t plan.
Luckily, some players are able to withstand the pressure from the home fans thanks to their built-in traits, so look out for those with these abilities.
Best abilities to counter Stadium Pulse
Ability | Effect |
---|---|
Road Dog | Increases a player’s composure on the road. |
Winning Time | Protects player from composure loss. |
Headstrong | Allows hot routes and audibles to function normally, and protects a player from Stadium Pulse. |
Clear Headed | Protect’s player from composure loss. |
While these don’t guarantee that you’ll be able to completely ignore the mood inside the stadium, they do give your players the best possible chance to keep their composure.
