Alan Wake 2 is out now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, bringing players back to Bright Falls with FBI agent Saga Anderson, but how many hours long is the campaign? Here’s how long it will take you to beat Alan Wake 2.

It’s been 13 years since the release of Remedy’s original title Alan Wake, which brought players to Bright Falls and Cauldron Lake for the first time. Now a whole new tale that connects the first game and Control to Alan and Saga’s new mystery begins.

There’s a lot to do while taking a trip down memory lane in Remedy’s new take on the survival horror genre. Here’s how long it’ll take you to finish the main story of Alan Wake 2 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Alan Wake 2 takes roughly 12-13 hours to beat on a first playthrough, according to HowLongToBeat. The original Alan Wake took around 11 hours to complete, and the second chapter of this tale isn’t far from that.

If players want to aim for a standard run while gathering some collectibles here and there, it will take them around 20-24 hours to complete. According to Remedy Entertainment, collectibles are a crucial part of the game’s narrative.

For completionists, the game can take closer to 28-30 hours as players try to complete and collect everything there is to find in Alan Wake 2. This includes both character’s main story missions and every collectible in the game.

To continue with the fun, hardcore players will be able to tackle the game’s New Game Plus mode that will be available after launch. Remedy confirmed it’s working on it and promises more content, an alternative narrative, and a whole new difficulty level.
