Content Warning‘s fun gameplay surrounding getting the best footage of spooky monsters captured the attention of a massive audience. However, the horror co-op‘s sudden surge in popularity has calmed down significantly, even though it is still played by thousands of players worldwide.

Now that several months have passed, you might wonder how the game is performing in its current state and if it has successfully retained its popular player base.

So, if you’re wondering how many players are still diving into Content Warning, here are the stats.

Content Warning player count this month

According to Steam Charts, about 4,918 players played the game from June to July 2024. It also stands at a 24-hour peak of 8,072 with 3,698 currently playing Content Warning as of writing.

Keep in mind that these stats are an estimate of the actual numbers, and the data reflects the numbers on its only available platform, which is PC. As these numbers are from a third-party website and haven’t been confirmed by the devs, take these with a pinch of salt.

Peak player count

According to SteamDB, Content Warning had a peak player count of 204,439, back on April 2, the day after its worldwide release. However, its large player numbers went down enormously as the game suffered an 86% loss in player retention in May.

The last Content Warning update dropped on June 12, and there have been no subsequent news or announcements from Landfall Games yet regarding the game’s future.

Back on May 2, Landfall released their last major update with new gadgets and monsters for the game, but even that was unable to bring back the lost players. However, the devs have been active in the community and made sure to put out patches and bug fixes timely, so it’s expected that more content should follow.
