We recommend acquiring automatic and semi-automatic weapons such as the TMP and Stingray for this fight. This is because using a gun with a fast fire rate will make it easier to hit Salazar while he’s moving.

Throughout this fight, Salazar’s body will be protected by the monster’s mouth, and you’ll have the opportunity to shoot at it whenever the creature spits acid. After it takes enough damage, Salazar’s body will have a melee prompt for you to dish out more damage.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Shoot at the monster whenever it spits acid.
  2. Wait until Salazar’s body drops.
  3. Go up to Salazar and press the melee prompt to deal damage.
  4. Keep firing while avoiding his attacks.
Wait for the melee prompt to seriously hurt Salazar in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Salazar will hit you with a ton of deadly attacks, including acid spit and acid pods which can quickly reduce your health if you get caught. The attack you should be most careful about is when the monster tries to chomp you, as this can instantly kill you.

You can evade these attacks effectively if you take cover behind the staircase with a pillar. The acid pods also drop useful loot when you shoot at them, but be sure to keep your distance when they explode.

Just keep this up and eventually, you’ll defeat Salazar. Once this is done, you’ll get the “No Thanks, Bro!” achievement. You can also get the “You Talk Too Much!” achievement if you landed a grenade into Salazar’s mouth during the fight.
