If you want to be safe from the toughest attacks in Persona 3 Reload, you should have a good amount of Homunculus in stock. These items can be hard to find, but here’s how you can farm them once you deep dive into the scholar year.

Persona 3 Reload is full of secrets and activities that players can complete during their school year, like going out on dates with NPCs, crafting new equipment and items, and visiting Tartarus at night to level up. The Persona franchise is all about life and dungeon-crawling roleplay.

In your visits to Tartarus, or when facing a Full Moon Boss, you will come across certain attacks that can wipe your party if you go in unprepared. To avoid this, you will need to find or craft a certain item that can keep you safe in Persona 3 Reload.

Persona 3 Reload: What are Homunculus and why do I need them?

Homunculus in Persona 3 Reload are special items that will be automatically used when a foe uses an OHKO Skill on you. Each party member who gets affected by any instakill skill will break a Homunculus instead of dying.

Some mid to end-game bosses pack very powerful versions of the Dark and Light instakill skills, like Mamudoon, which has a 35% (or “medium” as the game states) chance of OHKO one (or all) party members if used in its party-wide version.

So, now that you know what a Homunculus is for in Persona 3 Reload, you should stock yourself up before any Tartarus exploration night. Here’s the best way to farm them by only spending money.

How to farm of Homunculus item in Persona 3 Reload

To farm and stock up on Homunculus during your Persona 3 Reload adventures, you will need to wait until June 9, when the Antique Shop opens in Paulownia Mall. Once here, you will be able to craft Homunculus using Onyx gems found in Tartarus.

You can also randomly obtain Homunculus in Rare chests, but the best way to farm them quickly is by visiting the Jeweller in Club Escapade and buying Onyx from the luxury shop. Each Onyx costs 5,000 yen, and you will need five to craft a Homunculus.

This might seem a lot in the early game, but when you start needing the Homunculus, it will be a breeze, as you will get tons of money from selling items and equipment found in Tartarus. So, with this in mind, be ready to stock up on these important items, as you will need them for the Reaper fight or the last floors in Tartarus.
