How to fix ‘failed to join’ error in Helldivers 2
Arrowhead Game StudiosHelldivers 2 has arrived and players can finally cause chaos in the galaxy. It has, however, brought some problems that players have encountered. This is how to fix the Helldivers 2 ‘failed to join’ error.
Helldivers 2 is not the only game to go through some struggle on launch. While devs try their best to get their games ready for players, sometimes unforeseen issues can get in the way.
One of the most prevalent issues players are experiencing right now is that they cannot get into lobbies. Instead, they just get a ‘failed to join’ error, but it is fixable.
Here’s how to fix the ‘failed to join’ error in Helldivers 2.
How to fix Helldivers 2 ‘failed to join’ error
Helldivers 2 players can try and fix the ‘failed to join’ error by putting less strain on the servers. This can be done in a number of ways, which we’ve listed below:
- Reload your game
- Disable crossplay
- Try the game out solo
There is no guaranteed fix at the moment, unfortunately, but reloading your game or disabling crossplay may help with putting less strain on the servers. Otherwise, trying the game out solo may also work for you until the issue is resolved.
The issue is occurring because the servers are taking a lot of stress from the amount of players online right now. The devs are aware of the issue, and as they mentioned on their discord server, they are looking for a fix.
“We are aware that there’s an issue that shows up when you hit Quickplay and the game attempts to matchmake. We are on it and attempting a fix as soon as we can. We’ll update you all here as soon as we have something concrete,” Mikael Eriksson, Game Director of Helldivers 2, said.
