FromSoftwareBloodhound’s Fang is one of the best Strength/Dex weapons in Elden Ring as its high raw damage can melt through bosses’ health bars easily. Here’s how to get Bloodhound’s Fang in Elden Ring and the best builds you can make with it.
RPG fans have been patiently waiting for Elden Ring‘s DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree as the devs have already announced its release date of June 21, 2024. Now, players are looking to get back into the title to collect everything before the DLC arrives.
Players who are not interested in elemental or status effect weapons in Elden Ring can look to getting Bloodhound’s Fang as an alternative. Its massive raw damage output can give some of the most broken weapons in the game a run for their money.
Here’s how to get Bloodhound’s Fang in Elden Ring easily.
Elden Ring: How to get Bloodhound’s Fang
Bloodhound’s Fang can be acquired quite early in Elden Ring by defeating Bloodhound Knight Darriwil in the Forlorn Hound Evergaol. Keep in mind that Evergaol fights in the game can get quite difficult as you cannot summon Spirit Ashes or other players for help.
However, this fight is an exception to the rule as you can head over to Mistwood Ruins to call Blaidd and start his questline to ensure his help in the fight with Darriwil. Needless to say, he can single-handedly defeat the boss without your help, so you can relax in the background and wait for the drop.
However, if you want to go solo in this fight, make sure that you are at least Level 20-30 in Elden Ring. Keep in mind that Darriwil has a huge range of attacks so make sure to always stay locked onto him and time your dodges, or simply use ranged attacks to hurt his health bar from afar.
Sooner or later, you should be defeating this boss and collect Bloodhound’s Fang. Since it is a special weapon, it will need Somber Smithing Stone to be upgraded and can go up to +10 in Elden Ring.
Best Bloodhound’s Fang builds in Elden Ring
Bloodhound’s Fang in Elden Ring scales with Strength and Dexterity, so any build that focuses on these two skills, or more on Dexterity would be a great choice. However, the most broken aspect of the weapon is its weapon art, so we recommend dropping some points in the Mind section as well.
Here are some great ways to amplify Bloodhound’s Fang in Elden Ring:
- Two-handing: Two-handing the Bloodhound’s Fang is a great way to optimize this build as you can get the x1.5 Strength bonus with the high scaling.
- Talismans:
- Radagon’s Soreseal: Raises Vigor, Endurance, Strength, and Dexterity by 5 each, but increases damage taken by 15%.
- Shard of Alexander: Greatly boosts Attack Power of Skills by 15%.
- Prosthesis-Wearer Heirloom: Raises Dexterity by 5.
Once upgraded to +10, Bloodhound’s Fang gets a B scaling on Dexterity, so that should be your go-to choice of stat to upgrade. However, do not ignore Strength, and keep investing points into it as well.
Alongside all these factors, it also causes 55 blood loss buildup in enemies. However, do note that you cannot increase that number by increasing Arcane as the weapon has zero Arcane scaling in Elden Ring.
As mentioned earlier, the best aspect of the Bloodhound’s Fang is its special attack known as Bloodhound’s Finesse, and you can use it to deal devastating damage to enemies and bosses alike in Elden Ring.
