Lantern Rite is now live in Genshin Impact, and like always, it brings plenty of rewards along the way. Similar to the past few Lantern Rite events, this version also has a free 4-star character that you can pick, with all of the available choices belonging to the Liyue region.

It includes all 4-star units from the region, even the newly introduced Gaming. If you can’t decide whom you should pick, here is everything you need to know about how to get them and the best choices.  

How to get a free 4-star in Genshin Impact Lantern Rite

To get one of the free 4-stars in Genshin Impact Lantern Rite, you’ll have to reach 800 Festival Fever. Festival Fever can be obtained by simply playing the many sub-events of Lantern Rite, like Paper Shadows A-Foraging.  

You’ll gain more than enough Fever once you complete the events in Lantern Rite. Go to the event page and click Festival Fever to view your progression. 

Once you have enough Fever, just click on Invite Character to claim the game in Genshin Impact. 

Which 4-star to pick in Genshin Impact Lantern Rite 2024?

Xingqiu and Xiangling are the best 4-stars to pick in Genshin Impact Lanter Rite, provided you don’t have them. Both of these characters best perform at higher Constellations, C6 for Xingqiu and C4 for Xiangling, so that’d be your top priority. 

In case you already have them, Yaoyao is another good pick if you need a Dendro healer. If you have all three of our recommended picks at their best Constellation and are one Constellation away for C6 Gaming, it is another good option as well.   

It also depends on how your account is, but in general, you’ll find less use of characters like Ningguang, Chongyun, Xinyan, and Yanfei.
