Things can get quite intense in Sons of the Forest when facing swarms of enemies and hotkeys can help you get the desired items quickly. If you’re yet to customize your controls, here’s how to hotkey items and weapons in Sons of the Forest.

There are tons of items in Sons of the Forest that you’ll be using for survival, combat, exploration, and a lot more. While resources like water, meat, rocks, and wood are easily available in the open world, some items like armor, arrows, and traps can be obtained through crafting.

Regardless of how you obtain weapons and items in the game, you’d always want to equip them with a single click or button press and hotkeys ensure this.

So, let’s take a look at how you can hotkey items and weapons in Sons of the Forest.

Can you hotkey weapons and items in Sons of the Forest?

Sons of the Forest doesn’t feature a traditional hotkey for weapons and items so you can’t assign each tool to a specific key. This may come as a disappointment to you if you were hoping for a quick select menu of some kind on their screen like in Fortnite.

However, there is still a way for you to make your weapons and items more easily accessible but it’s different from the traditional system. It involves using the backpack that your character has in the game.
