How to kill Chargers in Helldivers 2: Best Stratagems
Arrowhead Game StudiosOne of the significant challenges in Helldivers 2 is killing chargers, especially at higher levels. Luckily, there are some foolproof methods you can use to make things easier, so here’s how to kill Chargers in Helldivers 2.
Chargers are tough Helldivers 2 enemies that can kill you in one hit. They can be a frustrating foe to take on, especially if you have multiple on you in one combat zone.
Chargers are the heavy units of the Terminid faction, and you’ll need the right gear and Stratagems to make sure you can fight them effectively. This guide will take you through that gear, how to kill Chargers in Helldivers 2, where to target them, and more.
Strategies to kill Chargers in Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 Chargers can be killed by using some stealth, teamwork, and powerful attacks to strip off armor.
There are a few strategies you can use against Chargers:
- Put some distance between you and it so you can prepare.
- Drop Orbital Precision Strikes when they’re unaware of you.
- Play around obstacles to stop its charge attack.
- Work with your teammates to bait it.
The Orbital Precision Strike won’t always work if Chargers are coming at you from Bug Breaches, but it can be a powerful attack if you manage to sneak up on them. In the same vein, if you can make sure you spot them before they attack, you can prepare yourself for the fight ahead. This should give you a better chance to win.
Chargers’ attacks are brutal, and their charge attack can turn the entire battle around if it ends up hitting you. Obstacles like large rocks can make all the difference if you manage to duck behind them before the Charger hits you.
Another method if you don’t have any tank-busting weapons is to work with your team to bait it. Wait for it to rush toward you, duck out of the way, and wait for your teammates to shoot at its green tail.
Best gear to use against Chargers in Helldivers 2
The best Stratagems to use against Chargers in Helldivers 2 are Recoilless Rifle or an Expendable Anti-Tank launcher.
Two rockets from the Anti-Tank launcher are usually enough to kill a Charger. However, if you manage to hit any of its armored parts, it’s likely to come off and expose its vulnerable flesh to damage.
Most explosive anti-tank Stratagems will also work against Chargers, though they may not die unless they are hit directly. Certain Stratagems can also stick onto targets which will increase your chances of getting a direct hit.
If you don’t have access to any of this gear yet, then your best bet is to target its vulnerable backside and use the bait strategy with your teammates. One of you may die, but it will be worth it for the cause (hopefully).
