The Prince of Persia series is returning after more than 14 years with the release of The Lost Crown, and it is different than most recent installments in the series. In case you are not sure about this reboot, you can try a free demo of The Lost Crown to test it for yourself.

Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, the same team behind the Rayman franchise, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a 2.5D Metroidvania title. While the initial games in the series are 2D, as the franchise dates back to 1989, all major games since 2003’s reboot, The Sands of Time, were 3D.

The Prince of Persia series also never had any Metroidvania entries. So all in all, The Lost Crown is an entirely new take on the series, unfamiliar to many modern and classic fans. But if you’re on the fence about The Lost Crown, you can try a free demo and see it all for yourself.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown demo release date

The Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown demo is now available on all major platforms starting January 11. This comes a week before the game officially launches on January 18, so all players who aren’t sure about this new reboot can test it out for themselves.

To play the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown demo, just search for the game in your respective storefront and select the Demo version.

The Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown demo is available on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Ubisoft Connect and Epic Games Store), and Nintendo Switch.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown expected demo content

According to the official description of the game’s demo on the Xbox app, the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown demo includes “carefully selected sections from the game, with early unlocks of Time Powers and amulets, to show the main gameplay features while not spoiling the story.”

The developers also added that “some content in this demo may vary from the final game.”
