Ubisoft’s online pirate adventure, Skull and Bones, is finally going to set sail, and this time it won’t be delayed with the open beta here and its February 16 release date locked in. It is a more ship-focused game, taking place in a shared world where you’ll meet other players.
Being a more focused pirate game means Skull and Bones will feature some extremely detailed shipbuilding and combat. You can try and see all of that yourself with the open beta, and there are multiple rewards for playing it.

Skull and Bones open beta end date
The Skull and Bones open beta is live and will be available until February 11 at 3 PM PT / 11 PM GMT.
The beta is available on all current-gen consoles and PCs (via Ubisoft Connect or the Epic Games Store). It won’t be available on last-gen consoles as the game is current-gen exclusive.
How to play Skull and Bones open beta
To play Skull and Bones in open beta, you just have to search for “Skull and Bones” on your desired storefront.
Alternatively, you can check Ubisoft’s Free Event page, and you’ll see options for Skull and Bones. Click on “Access to Open Beta,” and it’ll redirect you to the beta page. You can select your platform there, and it’ll take you to the store page of your preferred platform.

The Skull and Bones open beta will let you play several missions, including campaign missions and contracts. You’ll be able to play up until a contract called “Exterminate the Rat.”
There are several regions that you can explore, the Red Isle, the Coast of Africa, and the East Indies. After you’ve completed the missions, you’re free to roam the seas.
Does Skull and Bones open beta progress carry over to full game?
Yes, all the progress you make in the Skull and Bones open beta will be carried over to launch. The progression in open beta is capped at Infamy Brigand (Tier 6 Rank 1).

You’ll have to hit the respective Infamy tier mentioned above in the objective to get the rewards.
Outside of these rewards, there are also Twitch drops, which is a Snow Leopard pet for your ship. All you have to do is watch streamers with the “Drop Enable” tag for one hour, and you’ll get a notification for the reward, and it has to be claimed within 24 hours.
