How to turn off Special Style in Tekken 8
Bandai NamcoTekken 8 has brand-new Special Style features that make doing combos more accessible, but if you want to disable it completely, here’s how to do it.
While Tekken 8 sees the return of the popular relaxing Tekken Ball mode, being a fighting game, most things are competitive. Most games in the genre have a high learning curve, so to ease that a little, Tekken 8 has introduced a new “Special Style” feature.
When the Special Style is on, there will be a small window on your side that shows all the several combos you can perform. However, it doesn’t offer much competitive edge in Tekken 8 and only helps newer players who don’t have the many combos rehearsed.
So, if you want to permanently turn off Special Style in Tekken 8, here’s how to do it.
How to turn off Special Style in Tekken 8
You can turn off Special Style during gameplay in Tekken 8 by pressing L1 (PlayStation), LB (Xbox), or O (PC).
Pressing the same button will, however, once again bring back the feature, so if you find yourself unintentionally pressing the button and want to disable it permanently in Tekken 8, here is how to do it:
- Go to the Options menu.
- Click on Controller Setup.
- Then pick the Control Type you’re using.
- Scroll down, and you’ll eventually find Special Style.
- Select it and remove the mapping altogether by pressing the Options button.
Now the feature will no longer appear, even if you accidentally hit your finger on L1. If you want to enable it again, just head to the same menu and add an input.
This way, you can also assign different buttons to Special Style too, or change any other inputs in the game.
That’s everything you need to know about disabling the newly added special feature. For more on Tekken 8, check out:
