Endnight GamesSons of the Forest has become a smash hit on PC during its early access period, but can console players enjoy the survival horror title? Here’s everything we know about Sons of the Forest on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Building on the gameplay of the 2014 original, Sons of the Forest strands players on an island where they’re forced to craft weapons and recruit allies to survive. Since entering early access, the game’s become a success, with millions of players grabbing their friends and hopping into a server.
With the game making such a large splash on PC, it’s no surprise that PlayStation and Xbox players will be wondering if they can try Sons of the Forest out for themselves.
Here’s everything you need to know about Sons of the Forest on console.
Is Sons of the Forest on PlayStation or Xbox?
As it stands, Sons of the Forest is not available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, or Xbox One, meaning PC is currently the only way to play.
This is unlikely to change any time soon, as the game is still in early access, and developer Endnight Games hasn’t announced a console port for the game’s full launch set for February 22, 2024.
It’s not all bad news though, as its predecessor The Forest did arrive on PlayStation 4 in 2018 after four years. However, the original never made its way to Xbox One and is still only playable on PlayStation and PC.
It remains to be seen if the devs follow the same format again with Sons of the Forest, but console players will certainly be hopeful that a PlayStation and Xbox arrive later down the line.
