Does Monster Hunter Wilds have a release date?
Monster Hunter Wilds does not have an official release date, but Capcom revealed that the game will be released in 2025.
During 2023’s The Game Awards, Capcom officially revealed Monster Hunter Wilds with a new trailer, showing off some gameplay and also revealed the 2025 release window. As soon as more information on an exact release date is revealed, we’ll be sure to update this piece so stay tuned.
Monster Hunter Wilds platforms
Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2025, according to the official website.
The devs have not mentioned a release on any other platforms, so it’s unlikely that we will see the game on the PS4, Xbox One, or even Nintendo Switch.
That said, there’s always a chance that the game will be announced or even made for more platforms post-launch, so we’ll keep you updated.
Monster Hunter Wilds gameplay & setting details
While not many details have been shared, we expect Monster Hunter Wilds to have similar gameplay to previous titles in the franchise, where players will take control of a Hunter and are tasked with various missions that require you to take out or capture monsters.
On May 30’s State of Play, Capcom revealed yet another trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds revealing several new characters and monsters, one of them being a new addition to the massive lineup of the franchise, known as Ceratonoth.
A few famous weapons such as the Greatsword and Light Bowgun were also flaunted in the trailer so it’s safe to assume that the franchise will be returning with similar weapon options from the previous titles.
Players can select from various weapons offering unique playstyles and moves to take out monsters. There will likely be some new mechanics to help you traverse around the map and during combat, and as seen in the trailer, players are able to ride a new mount that can glide in Monster Hunter Wilds.
The game seems to be set in an African-inspired location, with a desert biome and luscious forests. However, the game will likely not be limited to these two biomes as Monster Hunter is famous for their variety of environments.
Capcom has also confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds will have a dynamic living ecosystem, which indicates that the environment will be ever-changing and much more dynamic than the previous games, with sudden natural changes during hunts possibly being quite prevalent.
