Gizmo in Gremlins

Gizmo is set to be the next fighter added to the MultiVersus roster, so we’ve put together everything you need to know about when the Gremlin will be available in-game, and what to expect his movest to be like.

MultiVersus has been one of the breakout games of 2022 so far, and the Smash rival is showing no signs of taking its foot off the gas. The start of Season 1 saw Morty arrive as a fighter, and there are plenty more characters in the Warner Bros. back catalog that fans are hoping will show up.

Now, Player First Games have revealed that the next iconic character joining the fight is Gizmo from the 1984 comedy horror movie Gremlins.

But when is Gizmo set to make his MultiVersus debut, and how will he play? Here’s everything you need to know.

MultiVersus Gizmo release date and time

Player First Games have announced that Gizmo will arrive in MultiVersus on Thursday, September 8, 2022. The release was originally planned for Tuesday, September 6, but got pushed back to buy the devs some more time to prepare.

MultiVersus updates tend to arrive at a similar time every time, so you can check when Gizmo will release in your region below:

  • UK: 6 PM to 7 PM BST
  • Europe: 7 PM to 8 PM CST
  • USA: 1 PM to 2 PM ET / 10 AM to 11 AM PT

Fellow Gremlin Stripe is also expected to arrive sometime in Season 1, but there’s currently no official word on when this will be.

MultiVersus Gizmo abilities

Although we know that Gizmo is due to arrive very soon, there is little information on how he will actually play. There had been speculation that Gizmo and Stripe would come as a duo, much like Tom and Jerry, but we now know that the pair will be separate fighters.

It’s unclear which of MutiVersus’ classes Gizmo will fit it into, but based on the clip that shows the Mogwai cowering inside his box, it seems most likely he will be a Mage. These fighters tend to be tough to master, but can dominate matches with tricks and spells, which seems to fit the character perfectly.

We’ll update this section as soon as we get a clearer picture on Gixmo’s MultiVersus moveset and class.
