New leaks suggest Bully 2 was canceled due to GTA 6
Fans of Bully are bound to be disappointed by some new leaks which suggest that in 2017, Rockstar canceled ‘Bully 2’ in order to shift their focus towards the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6.
Rockstar’s Bully released in 2006 and became a classic. Applying the chaos and open-world elements of Grand Theft Auto to a high school setting proved to be successful, and fans have been eagerly awaiting a sequel ever since.
Over the years there have been many different rumors regarding Bully 2’s development, but nothing concrete has been confirmed by the developers themselves. Now some new leaks have emerged, which made it clear that Rockstar Games have other priorities at the moment.
Rockstar canceled Bully 2 to focus on GTA 6
The leaks suggest that Rockstar stopped development of the Bully sequel, officially canceling it in 2017. This information came from reliable Rockstar leaker Tez2 over on GTA Forums, and was originally reported by DualShockers.
Bully 2 was also reportedly in development in the late 2000’s, and then got canceled in the early 2010’s. This news is bound to disappoint fans who have been demanding a sequel for the past 14 years, but there is a silver lining.
According to Tez2, Rockstar Games halted work on the sequel so that they could focus their efforts on the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 instead. Another reliable leaker known as Yan2295 verified what Tez2 said to be correct.
Although it’s disappointing that we won’t be revisiting Bullsworth anytime soon, it makes sense why Rockstar would make this decision. GTA is their biggest and most popular franchise, and this sixth installment is promising to be the biggest one yet.
That said, it’s still exciting to know that we might get GTA 6 much sooner than expected. However, you should keep in mind that these are still just rumors, and we shouldn’t take them as absolute fact until we hear from the developers.
At the moment, we have no definite answers regarding GTA 6 or Bully 2. We’ll keep checking for developments, and we’ll be sure to update you once we learn something.
