Nightingale: How to get & use Umbrella

The Umbrella is an essential tool to have in Nightingale as you can use it to glide around the environment and also protect yourself from certain weather elements. With that said, here’s how to get and use an Umbrella in Nightingale.

Nightingale is currently available in early access and thousands of players have already jumped into the mystical Realms of the Faewilds.

Developed by Inflexion Games, the title puts a magical spin on the survival/crafting genre by introducing elements such as cards that can be used to switch biomes. Other staples of the genre, such as resource gathering and crafting, also play a prominent role in the game.

For traversal, the game lets players make use of an Umbrella to glide through the environment after jumping from heights. The tool will be an important part of your journey through the game, so here’s how to get the Umbrella in Nightingale.

How to get the Umbrella in Nightingale

You can get an Umbrella during Nightingale’s tutorial section. More specifically, you can find the item in a chest located near the Healing Salve mission item in the Swamp biome.

The chest is located at the top of the big towers in this area. To get there, you’ll have to defeat predators and make sure not to let Disease build up while crossing the water. Check the chest at the top of the tower and you will be rewarded with a Simple Umbrella.

If miss the item during the tutorial, you can always purchase it from Essence Traders for 30 Essence Dust.

How to use Umbrella in Nightingale

To use the Umbrella in Nightingale, press Space or the F button while the item is in your offhand. Using the Umbrella will let you glide short distances but only until your stamina bar depletes. The tool is ideally used to glide through the air after jumping from cliffs or mountains.

The Umbrella will also protect you from adverse weather conditions like hail, rain, and excessive heat from the Sun.
