No Rest for the Wicked is the latest game from Moon Studios, and it has an interesting character creation system. Here is everything you need to know about it, including how character creation works.

No Rest for the Wicked – while inspired by Soulslikes – has its own unique class and combat systems that change some things players may be used to in other titles.

So, here is everything you need to know about the No Rest for the Wicked class system and character creation, including all the customization options and how they work.

No Rest for the Wicked class system explained

No Rest for the Wicked allows players to be flexible with the classes they choose, using a soft class system that doesn’t lock you into a single one.

No Rest for the Wicked focuses on weapons instead of classes.

When you load into a new game and create your character, unlike most RPG games, you do not have the option to pick your class. Instead, you just customize how you want your character to look, choose your name, and head into the realm.

After playing through the prologue and getting to the first area, you will be able to find some weapons and level up by defeating enemies around you. Each time you level up, you will be awarded with three attribute points you can use across eight different attributes:

  • Health: Increases your resilience to damage, allowing you to withstand more hits before dying.
  • Stamina: Increases the number of attacks, dodges, or blocks you can perform.
  • Strength: Weapons that scale with strength receive an attribute bonus.
  • Dexterity: Weapons that scale with dexterity receive an attribute bonus.
  • Intelligence: Weapons that scale with intelligence receive an attribute bonus.
  • Faith: Weapons that scale with faith receive an attribute bonus.
  • Focus: Acquire additional focus bars; a new focus bar is granted for every 100 focus points.
  • Equip Load: Raises the limit for equipped gear weight

Some weapons you pick up need a certain level of Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, or Faith to equip. As a result, the class system is heavily reliant on what kind of weapons you want to use in your playthrough.

Not only that, but these stats also change the way your weapon works depending on what attribute you decide to focus on. As a result, you can sink your points into Strength at first, and if you don’t like that playstyle or the weapons attached to the attribute, you can switch to another attribute when you level up again.

No Rest for the Wicked character customization explained

No Rest for the Wicked allows you to choose your gender, name, and customize how you look.

You create a brand new character when you start playing No Rest for the Wicked, and you can choose to play as female or male, and customize how you look after that.

The customization options for characters include different hair colors, hairstyles, eye color, and faces. You can also change more specific with your character and change up their lips, for example. So, while you will still have the very unique look of a Cerim, it will be your own personal Cerim.
