Payday 3 dev responds to PlayStation players missing Gold edition rewards
Starbreeze StudiosA Payday 3 dev has responded to an issue on PlayStation which has left those who purchased the Gold edition without any of the rewards.
Payday 3 releases on September 21, 2023, but for those who pre-ordered the game, early access for the title has begun as of September 18, 2023, allowing players to hop into heists early.
One of the Payday 3 editions players can pre-order for early access to the game is the Gold edition, which costs $89.99/£79.99 but comes with some added bonuses as well as three days of early access.
Unfortunately, however, those who purchased this version of the game on PlayStation have noticed that the rewards are missing, but luckily the devs were quick to respond.
The Lead Producer for Payday 3, Andreas Hall Penninger, provided an update on the missing Gold edition features on X (formerly known as Twitter).
They stated that the missing Payday 3 Gold edition rewards was due to a fault on PlayStation’s end rather than theirs, claiming that players were actually playing on an “older version of the game.”
After confirming that Sony was working on “rolling out the proper patch,” the Lead Producer provided an update on September 19 confirming that the issue on PlayStation 5 has now been resolved and that players should now be playing the “correct patch.”
This should mean that players who purchased the Gold edition of Payday 3 will now finally be able to reap the rewards, which include a Trifecta Loot Bag, various cosmetics, the Season Pass, and more.
Some players are asking for “compensation” in the comments, while others are just thanking the devs and PlayStation for getting the issue resolved quickly: “on behalf of the whole console Community thank you very much.”
If you’re looking to play Payday 3 early, make sure you pre-order the game before the launch on September 21, or check if the game is on the Xbox Game Pass if you subscribe to the platform.
