How to complete Road Rage heist in Payday 3
Before we jump into the specifics, it’s important to note that you’ll get slightly different objectives based on the level of difficulty you choose before starting this heist in Payday 3. In this guide, we’ll go over the steps to get into the armored vehicle and escape with your crew on the Normal difficulty.
How to ambush and stop the armored transport
You need to ambush a moving armored truck, so the first step in completing the Road Rage heist in Payday 3 is to set up a trap. Look for a yellow crate as soon as the heist starts. You will find a bag with EMP inside this crate, which will help you disable the armored truck.
With the EMP picked up, you have exactly 90 seconds to carry it to the marked position on the other side of the bridge. While making your way to this position, you’ll be spotted by the civilian construction workers. You must intimidate and force them to cooperate by pointing your gun at them.
Wait for the armored truck to arrive. As soon as the truck goes over the EMP, there will be a small explosion and the truck will stop. However, the alarm will be raised and the cops will be coming after you soon.
How to override and move the armored transport in Payday 3
Now that the truck is still, you need to move it to the spot where you’ll further breach the vehicle. For this, you require a steering device, found in a random yellow crate nearby. Carry the steering device to the passenger side of the truck, install it, and activate it.
With this done, Shade will have full control of the truck and can start moving it towards the desired location. But the truck can only move forward when at least one member of your crew is standing close to it, inside the circle displayed on the screen. This can be a challenging part of the heist, especially when the police assault is underway.
While escorting the truck in the Road Rage heist, its route will be randomly picked. Following are the two possible truck routes, along with the obstacles you will encounter in each route:
Right route
If the armored truck moves toward the right, make sure to pick up the wheel ramps next to the cargo container and left side of the bridge. The ramps are necessary for the truck to go over the potholes or gaps on the bridge in Payday 3’s Road Rage heist. Since you will encounter these potholes a couple of times, you can either look for more wheel ramps or just carry the previously used ones to the next pothole.
As the truck approaches the end of the route, it will be blocked by a forklift. Move the forklift out of the truck’s way by interacting with it.
Left route
If the armored truck moves toward the left, there will be fewer obstacles to overcome. However, you’ll be exposed to police snipers and will need to take cover on the other side of the truck.
You will encounter a fence blocking the path of the truck. Use an electrical box nearby to open this fence. While the location of the electrical box is random, you can always find it anywhere close to the fence.
How to breach the armored transport in Payday 3
After getting the armored truck on the raised ramp, you can crouch and go under it to install a drill and start the breach. Once the drilling is done, disassemble the panel to cut off the wires. You will now have access to the truck’s back doors.
There are several safe deposit boxes in the back of the truck and you’ll need to lockpick them to get all the loot in Payday 3’s Road Rage heist. It is important to note that not everyone in your crew can lockpick and loot. With the police assault on the rise, you’ll need at least two crew members to fight them off. As soon as you find the bag of rare elements, you can signal the helicopter to come and pick up the loot.
How to escape in Payday 3’s Road Rage heist
Use the flare, found anywhere close to the truck, to signal the getaway helicopter. Pay attention to Shade on the radio. She will inform you whether the helicopter is coming towards the north side (right side of the truck) or the south side of the bridge (towards your left).
Carry the loot bags to the appropriate side of the bridge, and ensure you regularly refill on the ammo while fighting off the police. Once the helicopter arrives, throw the bags towards the aircraft, over the bridge, to start securing your loot. You can’t finish the heist until you secure a minimum number of rare elements.
All the bags secured after reaching the minimum requirement will give you extra cash once the heist is over. Finally, move towards the escape marker and interact with the scaffolding to create a path for your crew to escape. Once every member of your crew has reached the marker, you’ll be able to finish the heist.
