Payday 3 Under the Surphaze heist guide
Starbreeze StudiosUnder the Surphaze is a challenging but rewarding heist in Payday 3. From facing the barrage of security guards to stealing the renowned painting, a lot goes into completing this heist, and here’s a detailed guide on how to do so.
Payday 3 has arrived with a bunch of new heists and yet again, you have the option to cause a rampage or stealth your way to victory. While being aggressive puts the additional pressure of defeating and escaping the police on you, stealth requires patience and careful execution.
If you like heists that challenge your stealth skills, we can’t help but recommend playing Under the Surphaze. Your goal is to steal some valuable paintings, and the security is as tight as it gets. However, such a challenge also guarantees that you’ll be quite satisfied with your skills once it’s over.
On that note, let’s take a look at how you can complete the Under the Surphaze heist guide in Payday 3
Payday 3 Under the Surphaze heist walkthrough
Payday 3‘s The Under the Surphaze heist takes you and your team to the Surphaze Art Gallery, where you’ll be looking to rob some expensive art pieces on display. Just as with any heist in Payday 3, stealth is a huge factor here and should be attempted regardless of the difficulty you’re playing on. However, you’ll need to be more careful as the difficulty increases, being detected continuously can be quite frustrating.
Another thing to note is that you get different objectives based on the level of difficulty you’re playing in Payday 3. Here’s a detailed walkthrough of the Under the Surphaze heist in Payday 3 on Normal difficulty:
Entering the Surphaze Art Gallery
Your first objective is to enter the Surphaze Art Gallery. There are several methods of doing this, but two of the simplest are using the front gate or one of the metal gates in the vicinity. Other methods might require you to mask up as well as perform a jump puzzle, so using the two types of gates is much simpler.
Upon entering, you’ll need to make your way through the front courtyard, which is filled with a small number of guards and cameras. Use stealth to get past them, lockpick the door to the gallery, and head on in.
How to disable the security bars
Once you’re inside, you’ll need to do a couple of things before you can get the art pieces. Disabling the security bars around the pieces on the first and second floors is a good place to start. For this, look for a black circle on the ground and interact with it to start a mini-game.
The mini-game is pretty simple and requires you to stand inside a couple of circles to fill up a progress bar. Once that’s done, the bars will be disabled.
How to obtain the exhibit door QR codes
Every art piece is behind a door that you’ll need to open using a QR code. There are a total of seven QR codes, with each of them located in a different room. Here are all the locations:
- The first floor Bar.
- A first floor Bathroom.
- The first floor Employee Only room.
- Two inside the second-floor Break Room.
- The second floor Manager’s Office.
- The second-floor Server Room.
How to disable all security cameras
The second floor holds the security office, where you’ll find the controls for every security camera. You’ll need to lockpick the door to get inside and remember to deal with the guard who’s in there. Disable the cameras after this and you’re done.
Stealing the Greg Jud Painting
The Greg Jud Painting in Payday 3 can be found in the E1 Art Exhibit. Find the painting and use a lockpick to open the case or a Cutter to cut the glass and steal the painting.
Stealing Pedro Vicario’s Paintings
You can locate Pedro Vicario’s Paintings in Payday 3 by looking their locations up on the Manager’s computer in his office. Once you’ve located the rooms, head over and get ready to walk past traps like lasers, motion sensors, and more. Higher difficulties can have multiple traps in the same room.
You can turn the traps off by locating power switches for them inside the Art Exhibit and switching them off. Next, you’ll have to identify the correct Pedro Vicario paintings, which you can do using the UV light equipped on your weapon. The authentic Pedro Vicario paintings will have blood on them. Steal the right paintings and move on.
Stealing the Uma Ladette Painting
The Uma Ladette Painting is the last painting you’ll have to steal, and it is located in one of two art galleries. Just as with Pedro Vicario’s Paintings, you can find the location of the Uma Ladette painting in the Manager’s office, but be careful as there are two locations listed on it, with one of them being fake.
You’ll need a spectrophotometer and a USB drive to successfully pull off the final bit of the robbery. Thankfully, both these tools are found on the upper floor. The USB drive is found inside a safe hidden behind a secret compartment in the Manager’s office, and the spectrophotometer is found behind a locked door on the same floor. Just lockpick it and you’ll have the tool.
Go to one of the two locations for the painting and scan the painting with your spectrophotometer. If it’s authentic, plug your USB drive in it and steal it. Otherwise, you’ll need to head over to the other location and repeat the process.
How to escape with your loot
After you’re done with the robbery, head over to the fire escape on the second floor. Make your way to your van without being spotted by the security guards or any civilians in the area. Once you’re in the van, you can celebrate successfully pulling off the Under the Surphaze heist.
